Cheap Energon Optimus Prime?

Recommended Posts

Aren't they going to have a deluxe price point version? That should go for $10 or so. Even though he looks like Fat Bastard (Get in mah bellae!), I'd prolly buy that version. For an extra $30, who needs a bunch of ugly useless little matchbox zord thingies anyway. It may well be an outdated viewpoint, but its still my story and Im stickin' to it!

He rocks! He's not as easy on the eyes as I'd hope, but in terms of fun he's more than worth the price. Once Omega Supreme and Wing Saber hit the shelves it just makes him that much cooler, one of the best TFs around if you're fortunate enough to get him. There's an alternative paint scheme coming out eventually with a more unified color scheme; the primary colors being red and black.

If you're really going to avoid paying full price you can wait until the line practically ends and maybe you'll be able to get him for $20 like I've gotten a couple extra Superbase Primes.

Store exclusive. And it would have been nice looking if the smaller robot didn't look like it was wearing a jumpsuit. Making the legs all red kinda does that...

We still don't know what the Energon "Energon" Optimus Prime will look like.

Heck I'll probably wind up buying it. It will probably grow on me.

Energon does that to you. A lot of the toys don't look all that great just looking at them, but once you actually have them in your hands and start playing with them, they are gold, pure and simple.

Like my experience with Energon Hot Shot. I pretty much bought him just to try out the PL gimmick, and thought that Inferno was cooler. Hot Shot has become my favorite TF ever.

I like Energon Starscream dude. That guy looks just plain mean.

There is a Superlink Grand Convoy that was redesigned as a deluxe. But he is not intended to do the same combining gimmick as the Super version (so, no combining with OS, and Wing Saber). He is designed as a Powerlinker like any other deluxe Autobot.

Right now, it looks like he may be a store exclusive with Superlink Galvatron (a TRU two pack of both for $39.99)

with so many higher priced transformers ($25 or above) you have to figure there will be a lot of leftovers hanging around for a long time to come. espcially with the economy still being bad, parents just can't blow that kind of money to get these figures for kids. also you have to figure a lot of die hard collectors already have their fill of what they want.

for those with money and patience it's better to wait. things will be moving more towards a buyers market. they really have no choice, if products aren't moving they're gonna have to lower the prices to make them move.

everywhere i go around here i see e-optimus up the yin-yang so eventually i'm sure we'll see some significant price drops. if nobody can get rid of them there won't be any room for the bigass omega supreme. all the jetfires and ironhides are taking up too much room so that it will be hard for them to get out mirage, more landmines, shockblast and some of the other higher priced figures due out.

hasbro had a great year last year but now i think they are getting too greedy. products aren't moving as fast as they were before and eventually someone will realize that. what impact this will have on future tf lines is anyones guess.

I don't think it's so much greed as it is bad distribution of product. Besides, calling a company "greedy" because they exist as an institution meant to make money is more than a little redundant...

the point is getting too greedy is a mistake that can end up costing them in the long run, as well as US the fans.

c'mon do i really need to spell it out!!! :wtf

ask marvel comics, they know all about the dangers of getting too greedy, it almost totally wiped them out!
