well, my GF works for target, and she says they always have people come in and buy multiples of things. most of the time, they run ebay scams with the merchandise.

they acctually had to call the cops on a couple of people when the TMX elmo came out, cuz store policy was one per customer, and little dipBlot had the last four toys in his cart. all these housewives were ready to light torches and bust out pitchforks on this knob, and then an employee said, "sorry, only one elmo per customer."

long story short, my GF got to mop up blood.

and that was over gheyass elmo toys.

:lol

Reading that just made my night :thumb

me too :thumb

Indeed.

It made my day too.

I just hope no one here has ever deprived a child of TF's just to satisfy some urge to buy.

I've seen collectors hovering around little kids that are holding a toy the collector wants, just to see the collector nab as soon as it leaves the childs hands.

I even saw one guy nab the last anakin skywalker jedi starfighter out of some lady's shopping kart, and bolt while the kid who wanted just stood there in disbelief...

Thas's just wrong! I wouldv'e put a new shoe size in that guys arse. I wait till the isle is vacant of chitlins before I even look for my toys....I just can't stand the thought of some kid ot getting what he wanted just cause of my greedy butt.

i'll look while kids are looking, but won't pick anything up unless there are multiples. as for the guy that took the toy out of the cart, thats just wrong.

on a side note, the story about tmx elmo.... :rofl

it's 1996 all over again

Kids are worse than adults, I had picke dup a tf and was looking for more and some little brat kid picked up a plastic scythe and hit me with it, I wont go any further but he left the store very unhappy

what is it with parents who HAVE to get their kid the newest toy on the block?

as for tmx... havn't these people ever heard of PREORDERING i mean it's 2006 for Powerglide's sake o_O

O_O

uhm damn. thankfully i havn't had that happen. i don't stick around long enough i think, at least not in wal-mart, i can't stand it. everytime i'm in wal-mart there has to be at least 5 kids screaming their heads off....

I've never grabbed a toy out of kid's hand, but I did once have to fight through a sea of children to get Shadow Panther. :P Those things sold like hotcakes.

Earlier today I had two year 8 students tell me that TF collecting is childish and supposedly wanted to know why I collected them -- in reality they wanted an excuse to tease my hobby. I told them to stop wasting class time, but if they were genuinely interested to know more about Transformers that I would be more than happy to discuss it with them -- at lunch time.

They shut up and got on with their class work. ;D

hmmm... do you have tf's in your class room or do the kids just know you collect tfs?

OH MAN! I almost forgot!

I've had a similar situation.

I was mulling over whether or not to get Sigma 6 Cobra Commander, and I decided to get it.

well, a kid about 8 or 9 years old snatched from me. outta my damn hand! I says "hey, i was gonna buy that."

the kid says " you buy toys, thats just sad."

I says " maybe its for my kid."

he calls me a Punch.

So I yank the fig outta his hand and goes " nope. its mine now. go the next aisle over and get you Dora doll."

his mom told me I was pathetic for buying toys at my age, and told her that her child is a foul mouthed little Blot, and they both needed a slappin.

she complained, but since I was buyin the toy, walmart did care.

I've been collecting toys since I was about 12, sos I gots some fun stories of retail shop madness.

I ended up giving CC to my little cousin for his birthday.

Man, my favorite was at TRU.

I picked up Classics bumble bee, starscream, and astrotrain.

the cashier looked at me and smiled.

I had been there the previous day and nabbed classics Prime, cybertron armorhide, and classics rodimus.

the cashier said ,"at this rate, youll havee all the transfromers!"

I just smiled and said, "thats the idea!"

I paid and left.

P.S.

I'm 24.

Was that the TRU in Indep? If so then I think that my story from TRU involves the same lady. I am pretty sure that you had mentioned on the boards that the Classics were in Indep, so I went and bought SS and that is when she mentioned that they were selling like mad. She was really rather nice. Anyway, an interesting little coincidence I think.

yeah, kind of an older lady with light colored hair.

she is very collector freindly.

she told me that some guys had hid some of the 07 hot wheels first editions in the baby toys section, and sure enough, there were at least 7 of the cars I didnt have.
