20th Aniversary Prime, A Rip Off?!

Recommended Posts

Back to the original topic, I will finally open my MP convoy later this week. I can then personally see what all the fuss is about!

me either, the only difference is the battle damage and shortened stacks. Which are irrelevant to me, what is relevant is how much I gotta pay for it. Thus, it was cheaper to buy 20th Prime at my local Target :thumb

Personally I'm always going to go for whatever is most readily available and cheaper. I'd rather buy from a local store, that way if I have any issues (my Prime was missing a part, for example) I can get them sorted out quickly and easily.

I've never bought anything on-line, but I will consider it for products I can't get elsewhere. Really want to get Soundwave, although I have a scary feeling he's going to be gone before I get around to it. (Have to pay back my Prime first) and I may buy Robot Master Starscream online, if he doesn't turn out to me too much of a let-down.

My point is, both companies serve a purpose.

Oh, and has that other guy ever heard of GI Joe? Maybe he'd prefer them? I bet he's twelve, anyway.

Wow...that one guy was just a tad extream.... you know most of the military medics I've met (my dad beeing one of them) are alot nicer than that.

As for the topic at hand. the Hasbro Prime doesn't really seem all that bad to me. I don't have a version my self (local wall mart ran out when I finaly had the money to buy it * grumbel grumbel* )

As for the Hasbro vs Takara, I usualy go with whats easily available for me (which tends to be Hasbro) Example beeing, my reissue megs that I picked up at an Anime convention, you can't get him hardly any other way. I also picked up the Takara version of Armada Laserbeak because I just flat had trouble finding him anywhere else.

I can see the debate over the astetic and durablity of the toy...but there is some people who take it to such extreams that when you cross it, it's as if you have bad mouth their religion. But, it is a free country, and people are intitled to their opinions, weather I understand them or not.

As for me, make mine Hasbro AND/OR Takara, just as long as it transforms.

Hasbro toys are nothing but cheap see-through plastic crap.

Screw Hasbro, buy Takara and Japanese robot toys. :usa

That was supposed to be a joke, right? Because if you were serious, somebody needs a serious beating and a re-education.

You're gonna beat me, a veteran EDUCATED soldier like me right?

I think your statement's a joke.

I'm a true life warrior akin to the soldier below (see signature), unlike you common *cough* TRANSFORMER fan boys out there. Half of you are probably overweight and obese.

Oooh.. impressive. Not.

Whoopdie-freakin'-do. :roll

-EDIT-

And now, having read the rest of the new posts in this thread..

So much for that vaunted "military discipline and honor" eh? Sheesh.

And I've never been able to accept the idea of a "soldier medic".. don't doctors have to take the oath of "First, do no harm"?

:roll again

-EDIT-

takara has a cardboard trailer so he doesn't look naked in truck mode

whoopdy-flippin-do! Ooh, a cardboard trailer, I'm sure that looks great on a diecast/plastic semi :roll

yeah well the point is a trailer-less cab is not right. it needs to pull SOMETHING. so what if the trailer isn't plastic? as long as it LOOKS like his trailer, it should be fine. but again, Prime needs to pull something and not just drive with some bigass gap in his back. it doesn;t look right.

I've seen plenty of trailor-less cabs. Looks fine to me.

I'm not bothered about the trailer. If they made a proper one, I'd consider buying it, but I have no desire for a cardboard one. Plus, that was always one of the curious things about Prime, where did his trailer disappear to when he transformed? At least we don't have to worry about that now. :tflaugh

Back on topic, MPC is great and so is 20th Ann. Prime. :thumb Trailer or no does not matter to me as much as having a show accurate Optimus Prime. He is a great toy and one I really enjoy. I was willing to buy both, but for someone who cannot, IMO get whatever you can afford, it really should be as simple as that.

As for Binaltech vs. Alternators, samething get what you can afford and are willing to pay. If you want Binaltech then save your money and comparison shop so you don't overspend. Ultimately the choice is yours, how you collect, but please lets stop berating one another over which version/company/type is better.

Afterall wouldn't we all agree, NOW it is the BEST time to be a TFan? :thumb :beer

the trailer i got with my takara prime sucks, it wont stand up until i reinforced it

but i prefer the look of the smokestacks and the no battle damage, i got rid of my hasbro prime due to the battle dmg paint, when i got it, both had grey guns
