Beastformers were in the headmasters cartoon, the first series was released w/autobot and Decepticon symbols, they had Transformers:Beastformers on the packaging (that was done in G1 style). They are part of Transformers. Same thing goes for the quints, for the most part. If it has Transformers on the package it counts.

I voted all.

So you count the statues, the PVC figures, and the like as well. Beacause most of them are toys as well. Personally if it doesn't transform its not a transformer. Actionmasters I only count because of thier transforming companions, but thats a loose tie in my mind. Otherwise I wouldn't even count them. But thats personal preference i suppose.

let me rephrase...since this was about toys. I ment TOYS with the transformers title count? Any better? When the hell did everyone start reading every little thing at face value? Read between the lines, understand that the topic was about the toys, thus my responce was based on toys. I keep underestimating people on this factor, I'll have to remeber to try to be as specific as possible next time... :wtf

The point I was trying to make is what would you class as a Transformers toy? I don't class the non-transforming toys as Transformers & I see them in the same league as bedsheets, comics, etc. Nice trinkets, but not Transformers.

PVCs I see as toys, statues i see as statues. As for your opinion and mine being different I think it's why we need a rough guideline period. I claim to have over 1000 TF's, but maybe, by the time this is all over it'll be 500 i don't know. I just think it's kinda crazy that we all go around calling this a TF and but not that one or whatever. It'd be the same if we had a money system, without a determined face value, only a personaly valuye to each owner. If we can get a system going it'll start to clear things up a bit (even though many will dissagre with parts of it). That's the way life goes, and though I see I'm in the minority here that's cool with me if it helps create a common census of where we as a majority stand.

I'm looking forward to what the final result will be and upon it being released I think we should put it up to a final vote as well, do some minor changes to it and call it the "Unofficial TF Counting Method". This way TFfans can have their personal TF count and a "standard" count. The "stadard" count being one we all can recognize and understand. (yeah I'm going to get flak for this reply... :redface )

ok, my bad, i get ya. Too see what I count as a TF and what i don't go back and check the polls, thus far, I think I have stated my reasons in all of them

I was being a bit of a dick to make my point, sorry 'bout that! :redface

Your "Unofficial TF Counting Method" idea has been officially 'jacked by me, I'll be doing the same. :thumb

Just a friendly reminder that if you voted or are considering voting any option other than "None of them count," then I would also strongly urge you to support the inclusion of counting the Transformer Microman figures by casting a supportive vote in Poll #12.

NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

That's the spirit!

Oh look, of course everyone is still entitled to their own personal method of counting. This will never change. But yeah, the purpose of this experiment is to create a "standard" system of counting that we can all use and compare notes with each other.

Already there are outcomes on some of the polls that I don't agree with, but this is something that I knew would happen from the outset of starting this whole project, and it is something that I have to accept (like it or not).

What I hope to create here is a system where most fans can agree with most of the outcomes. I don't agree with all of the outcomes so far, but I can say that I do agree with most of them. I don't think we will ever find any system where everyone agrees with everything. We are all individuals and we have different tastes and opinions on what should count and what shouldn't. But I think that trying to sort it out democratically is the fairest way to do so.

For instance, I may not personally like the outcome of Poll#12, but at the same time, I cannot argue the fact that the result was a democratic process and that abiding by the majority vote is the fairest thing to do.

And that's the real crux of the matter -- the system that I'm aiming to create here isn't meant to be agreeable to everybody, but it is meant to be fair. And whilst people may be able to argue with some elements of it here and there, I am hoping that due to the democratic process in creating this standard system, that people will not able able to argue against its fairness.

Btw, this survey will be conducted across about three different TF boards, not just TFans (thus sampling a broader range of TF collectors) - each board is hosted in a different country too. ;)
