Favorite Decepticon traitor

Recommended Posts

After reading the "Favorite Turncoat Decepticon" thread

http://www.TFans.com/talk/index.php?showto...mp;#entry957597

I felt like starting this one: which Decepticon traitor do you like best and which one do you hate most?

By traitor I do not mean Decepticons who defected to the Autobots but just betrayed the Decepticon cause overall.

My favorite has to be Starscream if he fits the bill. Sure he wanted to take over command from Megatron but with most evil empires they employ a philosephy of "survival of the fittest" so it is only logical for suboridates to want to take command from their leader.

And Starscream's goals would have been the same as Megatron's: desctuction of the Autobots and total control of the universe. And Starscream was pretty cool so that helps.

My most despised traitor is Scorponok (from Headmasters) for one reason: the destruction Cybertron. I mean it is the Transformers home world and the Decepticons goal is to rule the universe with Cybertron as its centre.

Additonally the Aubots had 3 bases in Headmaster and after the destruction of Cybertron they only had 2 bases to defend. Which gave them a strategic advantage.

So he is my most despised traitor of all time. Besides, I never liked Scorponok in the first place and I was saddened Galvatron did not slag him.

Of course that was the pantsy Galvatron the Japanese turned him into. Movie Galvatron would have obliterated Galvatron.

And comic Galvatron would've owned them all. :P

Shockwave was pretty interesting usurper. One thing that separated him from Starscream was that it was never personal - as a being of "supreme logic" supposedly devoid of subjective emotions, Shockwave's plans to obtain Decepticon leadership was usually based on what he considered to be logical conclusions. It was also interesting to see that he would gladly submit to Megatron's leadership if he considered it more logical for Megatron to lead -- Megatron's ultimate weapon against Shockwave's tendencies for overthrowing him was to coerce him into coming to the conclusion that Megatron would be a more suitable leader. Unfortunately for Megatron and Scorponok, Shockwave's logic often dictated that he should lead the Decepticons.

"You are in error! I crave no personal reward; I simply wish to restore the Decepticon army to its former glory! To do so, you -- the author of its downfall -- must be terminated. It is... logical!"

Blitzwing in the Five Faces of Darkness :D

question might as well be "whos your favorite starscream?" he was the only memorable and noteworthy traitor.

aside from dinobot.

Excellent point you got there Goki.

That is just the reason why I love Shockwave. Sure, he wants to lead but not because his ego demands it but because logic does. :tftongue

But that does not really make him a traitor since he does what he feels is best for the Decepticon empire. Afterall when he fought Scorponok it was because Scorpy was not getting the job done and a new leader was needed.

Black Arachnia.

dino bot and six shot

bigds9fan: well it depends on your POV. From Shockwave's perspective, he isn't a traitor as he believes himself to be still ultimately loyal to the Decepticon cause. From Megatron and Scorponok's perspective, Shockwave is treacherous. Even Starscream's treachery works in a similar way - although his is far more fueled by the desire for personal advancement/gain - Starscream ultimately believes that his actions are for the overall good of the Decepticon cause. It says so in his tech specs - where it is suggested that Starscream's rationale for wanting to place himself as Decepticon leader is because he "believes Decepticons should rely more on guile and speed rather than brute force to defeat Autobots."

I like the grimlock traitor thing in the recent comics
