MP Starscream color comfirmed

Recommended Posts

Actoys.net boards has a new scan of SS, possibly the coolest pic yet, showing the different face options and a super hi-res image

Check it.

Good day for SS, no?

Yowza!

I have to admit, I never was a big fan of either Starscream's colors nor Thundercracker's. But with this they nailed the perfect balance between them and make it looks awesome as well :eek

I don't care for show accuracy anymore. I don't even care if they call this Gundam Thunderscream. This is one AWESOME Transformer. And I just pre-ordered one :clap

The only thing I hate is the colors. I see it more as a BT than a MP with the color choice that they made. I'll wait for the g1 accurate MP to appear kthx.

It seems to me that the only BT-ish thing about him is the color scheme. The mold is intentionally designed to strictly resemble G1 Starscream. Not even the most homage-licious BT resembles its G1 counterpart that closely.

Well, I guess Hound is debateable...

What really kills it for me is what Hasbro said about it being made as a one-off to the Alternators line. At a higher price point I should think they can work the bot mode to be a bit more G1 friendly. But even if this was a perfect G1 likeness that I would be willing to call a Masterpiece I doubt I would be willing to pay that much for such a short figure. This guy doesn't even have any electronics in him does he? $70 and I would have been sold, $100 and I feel like I'm being taken for a sucker.

who said he's $100? get a better retailer

anyway if this isn't enough of a G1 likeness for you.... then wow

the thing I don't get about Hasbro's comment is that they also said that Takara takes the lead regarding MP figures. So.... whose idea was MP Starscream, anyway?

oh well, I guess it doesn't matter that much. The figure's finalized by now; people can make an informed decision about whether or not they want him.

also, the $100 is the aftermarket mark-up, most japanese retailers are offering him for under $90.  obviously you'd hafta factor in shipping from japan though.  also, the height of the toy doesn't matter realy, you're paying for the engineering.  for ss to get taller during transformation his parts would have to be too thin and he's be pretty flimsy...  compared to the size of ths g1 convoy, mpss isn't realy all that bad

Wait, what did I miss? I didn't see anything about Hasbro saying anything about anything...

Can someone clue me in?

This is 100% speculation, but perhaps the MP Convoy designers weren't happy with how the vehicle mode turned out and decided to really focus on it the next time around.

just a little speculation

See, I could believe that if it wasn't for the whole "accept designs and allow them to get into full blown proto and then release images to the world" thing.

anyway if this isn't enough of a G1 likeness for you.... then wow

What you have to keep in mind is that, on this one, people were actually shown a more G1 Starscream.

Just as the first is not realsitc enough compared to the second, the second is not G1 enough compared to the first.
