It's just terribly stupid of TT to rerelease MP Prime w/ the trailer 2 years after the fact, and expect us to not only spend another $100 on something most of us have already bought, but to spend an add'l $80 on top of the $100 to finally get the damn trailer. I think that unfortunately MP-04 is going to absolutely bomb in terms of sales.

 

Oh and no Roller too, humph.

true.... but to play devil's advocate, Takara didn't know how well MP Convoy would sell before he was released. Perhaps they were hedging their bets a little and decided it would be better to take a loss on MP Convoy alone than on MP Convoy plus trailer. But now that they know it's a proven seller... Not that I necessarily understand why they're releasing MP-01 again AND releasing "MP-04". Though I think Takara might have been concerned about brand confusion if they had just sold the trailer separately b/c that fan trailer is out there already in very Takara-y packaging.

actually I seriously do think the existence of the fan trailer limited Takara's options. especially since (from everything I've heard) it's a lot cooler...

But isnt it also like 10x more expensive?

 

Thats what i dont get - the fans that spend Hundreds of dollars on boots and protos and whatever - yet balk when the Main company ups the price $50.

 

I think the smart thing though would have been for takara to release the Trailer as MP4 and RE-release Prime as MP1. and maybe a special limited edition giftset with both like "convoy drinks milk edition" or something.

 

The seperating out roller just seems even stupider though. its like they are repeating the same exact mistake.

 

I thin the fandom proved to them that there was a desire -they kinda owe it to us to provide us with a complete product.

maybe the addition of Roller upped the price point to a level Takara wasn't comfortable with. who knows
