Wow, now you've made you point in bold coloured it text, it carries so much more weight. :roll :P

 

Except I'm not saying that Masterpiece Starscream is G1 because he's from the Masterpiece line.

 

I said that Masterpiece Prime IS G1 Prime because his official Takara booklet says so.

He is not the G1 toy, but he is a toy of the character from the show we call G1.

That is not an overcomplification, even children can differentiate between the two.

 

I also said that all the initial imagery and information sold the Masterpiece Starscream as the same thing.

 

I finally said that, until the release of the figure and the information in the booklet we can not say with certainty that this is or isn't supposed to be G1 Starscream.

 

If it is, we're being misslead as the figure is NOT G1.

If it isn't, it's not an issue, but those of us who were sold on the G1 Masterpiece Starscream still want our figure.

Why does it have to be either/or? Why can't it just be an homage to G1 Starscream? Does any deviation from the original G1 character make it "not G1" anymore? I'm sitting next to Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal and Megatron right now. If someone asked me "hey are those BW Primal and Megs?" I'd say "yes" because that's the obvious intent, even though they don't identically resemble the original BW toys or CGI models.

 

I just think it's a bit anal retentive to reject as "not G1" any G1 homage unless it identically matches the character it's paying homage to.

All I'm saying is it's not G1. It may be based on it, but it's not actually G1.

 

Buy the MP for what it is, or buy G1 Starscream. I would love it if the MP box arrived & it was full of packing foam with a little G1 Screamer stuffed in the middle! Be careful what you wish for!!!

Yes, well, I'm still waiting for them to make a Masterpiece G1 Starscream then. I don't need another non G1 Starscream, I've got about a dozen of those from the other cartoons.

This is gross. I was looking for a G1-accurate MP figure. Just as Prime was G1-accurate Or at least damn near it. I was willing to overlook the side panels hanging off his side...but the color is really off. I hope this picture is just severely distorted and not the end product...

starscream gets alot of attn from takara... wst, armada, energon, robotmasters... ect. it wouldn't make any sense for them to make a thundercracker. i say wait for an official release in box and tfkenkon'd.  agree'd... mp=/=g1.
