MP Starscream color comfirmed

Recommended Posts

why would they even bother making a g1 mp starscream if they werent planning on getting the colors to match?

because you touch yourself at night

if that were true he would be something like floresent pink. i pretty much molest myself every night.

good to know

I think the answer lies in your question, they didn't make a "G1 MP Starscream", they made an "MP Starscream".

If they'd *reissued* G1 Starscream in funky colors and tried to pass it off as G1 Starscream, then yeah that'd be different *cough*G2*cough*

pfff. dont give me that. its what the whole mp line stands for. or at least should stand for. they might as well have made and alt ss as a Powerglidein subaru than mess with the colors.

I was just explaining this to Superquad and Corsa

They have us by the balls. Think of the Hot Rod repaints of Hotshot. They'll sell us the radical color change first. Because it's a killer new mold and we have no proof another version will ever be made, we'll be helpless to resist it's purchase. While we're all content and happy with our purchase, they'll spring the no brainer, easy money, Toon accurate version on us. Or Hasbro will release their version on us.

save my statement somewhere. it's gonna happen.

but I just did give you that

anyway... "line"? what line are you talking about? The one mold that they've already done?

IMO "MP" status is more than deserved for this thing because of the INSANE level of detail on it (and the size of course, and the die-cast parts, and etc.). IMO the color scheme is a more superficial thing.

im assuming that the "line" will not end with ss. there was doubt that prime was a one time deal, but now there is some sense of security in the notion that this line will have new additions over the next few years.

and i guess you have a point with your deffinition of the mp line. i just assumed from the prime mold and coloring (and seeing the ss prototype) that the ss would follow suit, and be colored to his g1 counterpart. but, i guess not.

sorry if I come across a bit ...uh, opinionated on this point. Heck, I assumed that MP Starscream would be G1-colored -- why wouldn't he be?

But I think part of the reason I'm okay with the color change is the already discussed-to-death "realism" in the alt mode, which I personally dig... but also, "Starscream" has undergone some color changes over the years. Whereas the other MP mold (Prime) hasn't. He's always been a red and blue truck of some kind. So I think it would be more sacrilegious to change his colors to something else. Plus, he's already more or less disguised anyway, since there *are* red semi trucks and stuff. (just don't look too closely at the trailer hitch ;))

Yeah, I kept sunstreaker normal and did the trunk mode to sideswipe.  I think it's doubly cool because they are once again the same car in alt mode, except for the trunk area, and different in robot mode.  Just like G1 (ahhhhh).

OK, I'm a dork.

Pasquale

just my two cents, the trunk mod realy helps in giving sideswipe that... sideswipe feeling, it improved my opinion of the mould 100%

HOWEVER we've only gotten ONE mp mould.  the mp line being g1 wet dreams has always been speculation.  i wasn't a big part of the fandom when mp1 was released, however, i don't recall ever reading an official statement stating that the mp line was all g1.  now, like i said i am one of the ones peeved that he's not g1 screamer, esp after that teaser with ths02 and the first proto, but as long as there's diecast, the mould still kicks ass and it is a form of starscream, and acceptable form, so i'll bite.  maybe later on down the road if hasbro releases a g1 acurate version (i honestly doubt seeing hasbro release this mould, hopefully they'll proove me wrong) i'll pick it up and sell the takara one.

meh, maybe i'm wrong, but i don't see how you can blam tak/tomy for everybody elses' assumations

:pfx

and BTW I'm an ultra mega Geewunner (and I do get Beastbox kthx) and as far as I'm concerned, G1 Starscream is a toy that came out in 1984. This is MP Starscream. Obviously it's an homage to G1 Starscream, but... it's an homage.

and as siburke mentioned, sometimes different is good. Nobody's taking away your G1 Starscream toys; you'll always have them.

meh

you, an ultra mega geewuner? No. You have too much sense to be one. far too much sense.

i'll translate ultra mega geewuner to MH speak:

"Ghey loser G1Fanboy"

/me waits for second panit job/masterpiece of mold
