Masterpiece G1 Starscream ....>>>>>>> Mwahahahahahahhahaha

give me a break it's  THUNDERCRACKER

look at his colors and it screams TC instead of SS

I'm not seeing the navy blue and black parts or the gray chest kthx

But it's MASTERPIECE Thundercracker, NOT G1 Thundercracker.  DUH. deadhorse.gif

But I think part of the reason I'm okay with the color change is the already discussed-to-death "realism" in the alt mode

And I still fail to see how the proposed colors are any more realistic than the G1 scheme.  Please clue the rest of us in here? :tfhuh

"the rest of us" being "you," I imagine :tflaugh

I say that because the answer should be pretty obvious to anyone with eyes, but you're clearly dissatisfied with the color scheme and it shows. There's nothing I can say to change your mind about that, so why bother.

My eyes tell me it's dark gray, not light gray.  Whoopee.  My eyes also tell me the air show stripes are still there, as are the red intakes, and look, faction symbols.  Very realistic.  You're clearly satisfied with the color scheme and... oh, wait, I'm NOT trying to change your mind.  I'm simply trying to figure out where you're coming from with the whole realism angle.  But since I can see from the remainder of this thread that you're just going to be an Afterburner for the sake of being an Afterburner, why bother?

Most of the posts in this thread are people Blotting all over someone else for having a different opinion, usually with some sort of imagined "moral high ground" as the basis for their adolescent dick-waving.  Yeah, real impressive y'all are.  Keep telling each other that. :roll

hey man, no need for melodramatic gheyness

not that there's anything wrong with that

obviously I know what a real F-15 looks like... which is why I said a monochromatic color scheme is more realistic than red, white and blue.

more realistic

"more"

I didn't think that was going to be a controversial statement...

disguise? what the hell do they need those for?

Blots and giggles?

as long as hes got two giant decepticon symbols on his wings, i wouldnt say hes trying to hard to fit in.

well you see....... I just don't think we need to be that Outback-retentive about it. He has the :Dc symbols and the stripes because G1 Starscream had them... same reason there's blue and red bits in the robot mode: G1 Starscream had them. I think you can still say "the color scheme is more realistic" b/c it is... and anyway it's "more" realistic if you want to get picky about it.

Nevertheless, I have no idea at all what possessed Takara to change his colors. Like I said, I assume there'll be some sort of explanatory comment in the booklet.

i was just trying to be an ass.

And now, for the past few posts, you reverse tone, no longer attempting to agitate since that part is already done.  Now your fanboys can follow up while you sit back and pretend you're the voice of reason.  Your tactics are obvious, grasshopper. :tfevil

[ontopic]So what you're saying is that they half-assed the realism part?  Because I was under the impression you felt it was actually realistic... or at least realistic enough to qualify as the "robot in disguise" thing you kept griping about.  Which I don't think it does... which is why I was trying to figure out the point of making it "more" realistic in the first place.  If they didn't go all the way, then why bother?

So the realism is half-assed.

The G1 homage is half-assed.

Does that mean this is a half-assed paint job?

editied for grammer

The G1 homage is half-assed?

Does that mean this is a half-assed paint job?

Honestly?

I don't friggin care. Seriously. Every one of my posts has been my honest opinion; if you've felt agitated by them, that's your issue and I don't really care anyway. The reason I didn't answer you before is b/c I didn't get the impression that anything I said would change your mind. Which is what I said before. And I still mean it now. oops I hope I'm not agitating again, that'd be sucky.

Anyway, I'm not Takara's company representative; why ask me stuff that I don't know the answers to? Or more to the point, why use me as the target of your Takara angst and frustration just because I don't care what color Starscream is? I didn't build the f*cking thing.

But the problem with this whole discussion is that people don't seem to be able to discuss this figure in terms other than black or white, yes or no. Either it's G1 or it's not. Either it's realistic or it's not. etc etc etc... which is why it gives me anal hives when people start parsing comments like "a gray color scheme is more realistic than red, white and blue". I mean, how is that not obviously true? Could it have been more realistic than that? Yes, of course. Jeebus, do you think I'm unwaware of that? Do you think I missed the con symbols and the stripes? Do you think I don't know that military jets are usually light flat gray? I never ever said "OMG IT'S TOTALLY REALISTIC AND NOBODY WOULD EVER BE ABLE TO TELL IT'S A TRANSFORMER". So I don't know what your issue is.

Red white and blue is more fitting of a flamboyant attention hoar like Starscream than mat gray. He's never really been one for disguise, he was the one that wanted to go out and pick a fight with all of the humans, that goes for all of his incarnations.

Oh, and how about those "more realistic"  laser guns under his wings.

Yes, well, I'm still waiting for them to make a Masterpiece G1 Starscream then. I don't need another non G1 Starscream, I've got about a dozen of those from the other cartoons.

Emerje

wow

Wow indeed. Am I wrong?

Oh, and this is also Thundercracker. :tflaugh
