MP Starscream color comfirmed

I know what you're saying, but unless we know for sure that the person writing the booklet and the person/people designing the figure were working hand in hand, I don't know how meaningful that would be.

Very, if Masterpiece Prime is anything to go by.

It's pretty detailed and even explains the relevence of the suspension in the feet:

"Function--SUSPENSION Convoy's solid legs support his body. Even in TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE (see picture), he attacks the Destrons while landing from a high-altitude jump, all without losing his balance."

That's definitely designer's pov imo.

The booklet is also why I call him G1 accurate as opposed to show accurate.

They state it's based on the show, but mention the toy and at one point mention  achieving something without compromising the image of Convoy seen in the cartoon and comics.

That can of course be read as meaning the same thing to them, but the figure's non show accurate parts say it was a factor.

But yeah, it seems very informed.

G1 Starscream was a toy from the 1980's.

I agree.

That's why I never called him G1 starscream, but Masterpiece G1 Starscream.

Again, going back to Masterpiece Prime; the booklet points out that his look, every gimmick and feature is G1.

NOT in terms of the toy line, but the continuity, the series.

You may not be looking to replace every G1 figure they own with a newer, cooler version, but that's tehcnically what he is.

Or more accurately, (and perhaps confusingly and retardedly depending on pov) he's the masterpiece rendition of media character, not of a toy the character is based on.

There's still every chance they could try to push Starscream in the same way, not as a Starscream that pays homage, but as G1 continuity Starscream himself.

shame, I can whip the roof off though, his robot mode is nice apart from the total lack of movement in his legs

all the trunk mod does is make it so that his back becomes his chest... short of some major trimming, i can't think of anything that'll fix the legs

Masterpiece G1 Starscream ....>>>>>>> Mwahahahahahahhahaha

give me a break it's  THUNDERCRACKER

look at his colors and it screams TC instead of SS

If Hasbro doesn't show anything by BotCon, I'm gonna be buying this guy.

why would they even bother making a g1 mp starscream if they werent planning on getting the colors to match?

i've said this before but my theory is that Tomy believes that the only people who would buy a G1 accurate MPSS are the hardcore G1 fanboys so they decided to make his jet mode more realistic so as to better appeal to the people who collect military models, which is a much larger demographic in Japan than hardcore G1 fans. either that or it was a means of making him stand out from the Macross Valkyries, which don't have realistic jet modes so that would give MPSS an advantage over them.

at any rate, just think of him as a high-end Binaltech and he'll appear a lot better :thumb
