MP Starscream color comfirmed

IF I get this...which I'm still not sure I will, I will be making the following paint job changes (see attached)

I might also paint the front of his "dress" red if it doesn't show up in alt mode....as well as the insides of his "shoulder guards". Regardless I will likely not do anything to interfere with that alt. mode.

Well, I haven't cancelled yet.  As stated, I have no interest in owning the figure as-is, but I feel like immiately cancelling would be jumping the gun a bit.  We still don't know what this figure's going to look like in 2 months time, and there's always the possibility that BBTS could get their hands on the anime version, in which case it might be possible to roll over (albeit at a higher MSRP, one would assume).

still though, I imagine metal would make for an easier repaint than plastic....

Yeah, but dammit if I am paying $108 or thereabouts shipped then I want it in the right colors. Sure you can paint it however you want once it is in your hands, but some of us don't have the skill to do a good job and like I said, I am unwilling to mess up a $100+ toy b/c the paint is wrong. Grrrr, I just want to see what he is actually going to look like. No more digibashing.

I think what he meant was that it would be easier for Hasbro/Takara to repaint the die cast rather than getting new parts molded in a completely different colour of plastic.

I THINK.

I THINK.

actually I was talking about kitbashing

but that's a good point too

......not that I see any further changes as being very likely at this point

this figure has completely turned me off.. The first prototype was prefect for starscream, PERFECT!! They changed a bit of it, and I didnt really like it, but then the whit prototype showed up the other day, and I was like ok, in G1 color scheme this will rock balls... but this... this is.... horrible.... completely horrible. This is not Screamer. Thundercracker maybe, but not screamer. No sir, not at all.

DAMNIT!!!

...and yeah, I agree.

but............ he's in disguise! :P

I remember the first time I saw Starscream back in the day, thinking "WTF why is an F-15 red, white and blue??" That lack of realism in a "robot in disguise" kinda bugged me, especially since so many of the other Transformers *were* really disguised in their alt modes. So I dunno, I guess I'm just not so fussed by it. Kinda like how I didn't care that BT Red alert wasn't a Lamborghini, since the likelihood of a vehicle like that ever actually existing is like zero.

but I understand nostalgia.

Here's how I would have liked it to look...more GEEWUNish, but it doesn't affect the realism of the jet mode IMO. and I'm not sure how the feet transform, but if they are unseen in jet mode, I think they would look good this way.
