I'm sure enough people will still buy it to justify it's existence, but I also believe this is a huge miscalculation on the part of Takara, and the first major mistake I believe I've ever seen them make.  Everything else they do tends to be 100% fan service, yet now they're doing the complete opposite. 

 

I think that, in several year's time, this will go down as one of the true "WTF were they thinking?" moments in Transformerdom.

Takara's made a lot more mistakes, just that nobody ever notices them.

mmm...  The worst part is the white, actually. I could live with this, but since there's rumor of a G1 accurate exclusive... I'll take that money and put it toward my exclusive from a scalper fund. *cancels preorder*

Be nice if Hasbro would go ahead and announce whether or not they'll be marketing this fig. You'd think that surely they would, but I have my doubts. Anni Prime coulda done better sales wise. And again, Hasbro is more geared towards the kids, and even an all plastic version of this would be expensive. You already don't see supreme Starscream or Metro or Primus or even Ops and Galvy fly off the shelves. And Hasbro will have a lot on thier plate with the Classics line for the end of this year and the movie line next year. I wouldn't be too surprised if Hasbro execs said "hmmm.... nah" to this, especially with the amount of fan-Starscreaming about the legs and skirt. Retools/new molds cost money.

 

Maybe I'll be wrong though. *hopes*

-Agreed. That's the only part of the colorscheme that really doesn't work for me...and that photo still has an overall bluish hue in it.

maybe the stripes and con logos are optional stickers so you could have a alt style star scream if you wanted or add them for a bit of G1 goodness just like BT Skids

Oh, I'll be cancelling my preorder as soon as I place my order for Nemesis Prime in approx. 5 minutes.  I'd happily pay $20 for this as an Alt, as is, perhaps even more.  But I'm sure as hell not paying over $100 to import a figure I can no longer stand to look at.

honistly if some one is hard core into G1 then they mostly likly gave up on this after they changed the design so much.

I'm hard core into G1.... but since this isn't G1 Starscream (he was released in 1984) I'm fine with whatever. This figure rules. :thumb

YAY~! realistic look/coloring...and for all teh tv show wanters, i'm sure there will be another color where it's tv show version...i mean....why would has/tak pass up an opportunity to make wads of money by recoloring a mold..lol :D...they certainl love to do it :D
