The new Gen 1?

The way ive always seen it is this:

G1 [uS/UK] / G1[JAP] --> GII [uS/UK] --> BW --> BWII --> BW Neo ([MW]/RID) --> BM --> Armada/Energon --> Cybertron

with [universe] being well a stand alone continuity

[for me] RID/Car Robots took place outside normal continuity, as Super Fire Convoy was esential the TF version of a Time Cop that he and his Maximals (yes i said it -- ie the Toy) monitored the time stream for fluxuations(sp) in continuity (see Time Paradox BW) and that the eps we saw were him tracking down 'Gigatron' in an Terran timeline in which the TF had yet to awaken.

---> this is a great place for MW * basicly * instead of the G1 TF's waking in 1984 Oregon, they wake in 1990-2000 Oregon

(The events in BW: The Agenda are seen here * hence why their ALT modes are slightly different)

Armada took place after BM(hence why the TF are Maximal size), that That era's Megatron learned of a secret Armada (mini cons/micormasters) that had been abandoned in the very very beginings of the original Great War.

As far as Cybertron *BLAH* the current series needs severe help

to fit continuity * u could go for the Ha$bro explanation that its yet another 10yrs after 'Energon' * however that leaves quite a few gaps in its own continuity

Don't forget TF: Universe :tfevil

Sorry :thumb

Universe started out as some sort of sequel to BM with TF from the other universes, but apparently the recent fanclub magazines have anchored Universe in the A/E/C universe with the elements of the previous Universe story crossing over.

What they basically need to do for the next series, is make a show that takes place further in the future, make some sparse reference ("there has been a great war before with Prime and Megatron fighting", no more then that) and not try to tie into any previous incarnation so they don't alienate any fans.

technically the continuities are thus: (not including novels, colouring books etc)

Toy* Continuity: G1** --> G2** --> Machine Wars --> Beast Wars <--BWII/BWNeo --> Beast Machines

*Toy = Story told through packaging, catalogues and Bio & Tech Specs

**Retrospectively includes e-Hobby & TRU exclusives intended to exist in toy continuity, e.g.: Nucleon Quest Convoy

G1 Comic Continuity: Marvel US/UK G1 --> G2

G1 Cartoon Continuity: Sunbow G1 Seasons 1-2 --> Scramble City --> Transformers The Movie --> Season 3 --> **continuity SPLITS** --> Season 4 (Rebirth) <-- Japanese continuity ignores this Season and replaces it with--> The Headmasters --> Super God Masterforce --> Victory --> Zone

Beast Wars/Machines Continuity: US Cartoon + Marvel Comic G1 + G2 Canon <-- Beast Wars Season 1<--Beast Wars II --> Beast Wars Season 2 + 3<--Beast Wars Neo/Beast Wars The Gathering --> Beast Machines <--Universe Wreckers

Car Robot: Challenge of the Gobots --> RiD (I'm kidding. It's a self contained universe) :P

"Armadaverse" (Comics): Armada --> Energon

"Armadaverse" (Cartoon): Armada --> Energon --> Cybertron<-->Japanese continuity disregards this from A/E Continuity; Galaxy Force = autonomous self contained universe

Well the point of the Universe continuity was to link all previous universes together in one multi-dimensional continuity, which should've been obvious considering that Vector Prime is one of the original 13 TFs from the G1 universe too. Not to mention the fact that images of all previous universe's Cybertrons were pictured in a past issue, most likely including G1's, RiD's, A/E, and C's(assuming that even though C is already in A/E continuity, but just takes place in a different universe)

Shorter Reply-Universe was the ultimate fanwank with the TF multiverse.

Dreamwave G1 volume 1 can fit into the cartoon continuity I think.

Also don't forget that Binaltech fits into the G1 toy one as well.

The April/May issue of the OTFCC magazine has a tree showing the relationship of the Transformers "Multiverse". AEC comics link together, AEC cartoons link together, and the Cybertron toon and (club) comic links together. RID links to nothing. Not sure how accurate their tree is though, they seem to have forgotten the G1 characters in Armada or the RID and Universe characters in the club comic. Just seems like they missed a few branches, but it's a great reference just the same.

Armada may have used character names from G1, but there were no G1 characters actually in it.

I wasn't clear enough, I meant the Armada comic. There was a mini arc ("Worlds Collide") where Galvatron, Bludgeon, Dirge, Scourge, and Thunderwing come over to the Armada "universe" as Unicron's heralds (G1 Unicron, not Armada Unicron) and cause havoc. Galvatron pretty much gets obliterated by Armada Megatron while Prime is stuck in another universe (?) with G1 Targetmaster Spinister. This all lead up to the eventual arrival of Armada Unicron.

BTW in this arc they make the first attempt to explain the multiple universes. To lift a quote from another site: "There are "parallel Earths and Cybertrons, some subtly different, others radically so." A parallel dimension is, "separated from our universe by a quantum event horizon."". The club/Cybertron comic also runs with this by showing characters from the various "universe" fighting side-by-side against Unicron's minions. There's even a couple pages showing 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal (the new mold) leading an army consisting of RID Omega Prime, BW Rhinox, RID Nightcruz (Spystreak), G1 Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, Energon Bulkhead, and various other Universe and con exclusive characters (April/May 06 issue).

Sorry you are wrong... the writer of Galaxy force said that that show was the final part of the Micron Legend trilogy!

i saw it like this

there are several continuities two for g1 alone and they are marvel and cartoon. the comic continuity leads onto g2 and both link to the bw series and bm.

rid is related to bwii or neo in someway i heard.

the armadaverse (cont energon and cybertron) is seperate from those above although in japan Galaxy force has been said to be seperate from this universe.

shorthand "don't try and make it make sense because it is impossible."

No, it's not. Dreamwave G1 is a separate continuity altogether. It borrows elements from the G1 cartoon, but it is not part of the same universe.

Also don't forget that Binaltech fits into the G1 toy one as well.

Binaltech fits into its own toy continuity, which is a splinter off the G1 cartoon continuity.

I sit corrected. :)

there are several continuities two for g1 alone and they are marvel and cartoon. the comic continuity leads onto g2 and both link to the bw series and bm.

The comic and cartoon are the two main continuities, but not the only ones. There were various books published during the 80s (e.g.: colouring books, activity books, adventure books etc) that all create their own little pocket universes. Also, there is the G1 toy continuity which is separate from the comics and cartoon. The toy continuity is the story told through the catalogues, packaging blurbs and bio & tech specs, examples of things that are unique to toy continuity:

+ Thundercracker is unsure of the Decepticon cause. This personality trait was never explored in the cartoon or comics -- Thundercracker is a severely underused character in the G1 cartoon.

+ Nucleon discovered in a black hole by Optimus Prime (hence Nucleon Quest Convoy) - in the Marvel comics, Nucleon was discovered on Hydrus Four by Grimlock.

...etc.

rid is related to bwii or neo in someway i heard.

BWII and BWNeo are related to BW - they are an expansion of the Canadian series, much like how the Marvel UK comics were an expansion of the Marvel US comics. And since they are related to BW, they are therefore vicariously also linked to G1/G2.

This makes it impossible for CR/RiD to exist in the same universe as BWII/BWNeo. One massive discrepancy is that in the Car Robot universe, we see one Beast Wars Transformer existing as a toy in Yuuki's bedroom!
