The new Gen 1?

Recommended Posts

I've so recently heard and started to think is the minicon trilogy the newer version of Gen 1? since after all its says that the minicons were there from the beginning. since trying to place that trilogy in a time line doesn't make sence at all..

Gen1

beast wars

beast machines

RiD

Armada

Energon

Cybertron

seems to be two different timelines...

What do you think?

btw sorry if this has been discussed to death.

Yes, it has been discussed to death  :tfevil

There are currently at least three continuities:

* G1 -> G2 -> BW -> BM (-> Transtech  :tfsad )

* RiD (although some claim that with sufficient effort it can be made part of the G1 continuity)

* Armada -> Energon -> Cybertron (with note that in Japan GF is a new continuity)

And then, of course, there's MW. Where that fits? There's a lot of similarity with G1 in character bios, but no story. So it could fit after G2.

Don't forget TF: Universe :tfevil

Up next-

Transformers: The Retcon Generation.

This one will try to tie in G1, Energon, and the Rock Lords from GoBots.

:tfhuh I'm so confused. :tfhuh

I didn't include the Japanese Continuity only because some on the forum think it doesn't belong in Gen 1.

but I'm not sure were Machine Wars fits in at... maybe after beast wars but before RiD.*waits for incoming flames*

but not really sure but possibly 4 different continuities?

Gen 1, Beast wars, beast machines, RiD

Gen 2, Machine Wars?

Universe

Japanese gen 1, headmasters, masterforce, victory, zone.

then the Minicon Trilogy, okay that's five!

To me, Armada was the new G1. The toys frustrated me like crazy but I had to own them any way. In fact, I look at the so called trillogy as a total revamp. Every thing from every TF universe and toy line was redone.

The April/May issue of the OTFCC magazine has a tree showing the relationship of the Transformers "Multiverse". AEC comics link together, AEC cartoons link together, and the Cybertron toon and (club) comic links together. RID links to nothing. Not sure how accurate their tree is though, they seem to have forgotten the G1 characters in Armada or the RID and Universe characters in the club comic. Just seems like they missed a few branches, but it's a great reference just the same.

RID can't be tied with G1. It has no ties to it at all. It can tie into A/E/C however.

No wait, forgot about Brave Max. No, RID can't really go anywhere.

Armada may have used character names from G1, but there were no G1 characters actually in it.
