I know alot of people will hope Hasbro don't see this, but I'm more than happy getting loads of repaints in this line. Around my way, we call the Ford Escort the "Ford Cli[banned]s" cos every c[banned]t's got one!

I think what has dimmed the excitement for me has been the repaint to new mold ratio. Right now it seems every wave of four only consists of maybe ONE new mold, fairly minimal considering that new waves only come out about every four to six months. And then all of the repaints just warm shelves, which makes it harder to even find the one or two new molds that become available w/each new wave.

what I meant was that the Alternators filled a huge G1 void when they first came out... now with the Classics, the Titaniums, and next year the movie toys coming out, that void has pretty much been filled. It seems almost redundant to keep this line going.

 

but that's just me, I know some people really like cars

I never liked the alts for their G1ness. I didn't even realize they were homages until Tracks (mostly because I didn't join the online fandom until just before his release).

 

I really hope they don't put out another Ravage.  that's just lazy.

Jaguar Ravage!  :clap Can't wait to see him. I kind of hope he'll be a triple changer-esque thing. Jaguar(car) to Robot to Jaguar(cat)!

Hopefully, this way I can finally talk my friend into believing Ravage is feline.

I think that is part of it as well though... I have the ones I want, and I don't see anything coming down the pike that looks interesting. I haven't for a long time, either. Mirage perhaps, but we'll see.

Lazy..? Every new Car mold has an all new Transformation scheme. As we've seen with Rumble, they're trying to push the alts to the next level. Maybe the speculation is right and if it is Ravage, he's a triple changer. If it's true and this after thought bot does come out 2 things. 1, it's our faults for all those suggestions for the previous Ravage and 2, too bad they wasted one of the Corvette molds on Ravage *thinks it should have been Wheeljack and the Mustang retool should have been some one else......Bluavenger's Downshift*

 

To think of it, the Jag as Ravage wouldn't be the first time they redid a character. Camshaft is really Bluestreak who's also known as Silverstreak. Camshaft looking like Bluestreak is probably our fault too for saying Blue Prowl should have been called Bluestreak. If you haven't noticed, Hasbro has been trying to 1up Takara for a while now. They came out with Swerve, Made Dcharge a totally nonGeeWun character (making him an oddity and more interesting), they gave Prowl G1 deco, Skids a totally different deco, G1 homage Rico, Sunstreaker with red arms, Nemesis Prime in the absence of Takara's Black Convoy and now the Bluestreak looking Camshaft as mentioned.

While it's true to say that Alts were there to fill in the G1 vibe for all us fanboys, I think that a while back they really came into their own and became something that could stand up on the merits of a kick ass transformation scheme with kick ass cars that were just all around kick ass, all for just 20 bucks a pop. Seriously-- we've seen so many interesting transformation schemes for a really limited "frame" so to say, that, if I were a designer or *anyone* on that team, I would be damn proud to say I was in some way responsible for bringing this line to market.

 

It's easy to sit back and think about the line's resignation because of all the remolds and distribution bullBlot going on, but if that's what I have to go through to get some *^#$ing killer toys, then bring it on!

 

Crappy molds, repaints and whatnot, these things are way better than a new equally-priced top 40 CD and I can't wait for the new molds to come out!

Such a positive step in the right direction with actual new molds. As far as the classics are concerned, I hope they aren't 1:24. The Alts and BTs have that niche and it should remain theirs to keep without other lines intruding.

 

I love tha Alts and the transforming technology involved and consider them the finest that HasTek put out up to date. Cybertrons ok for kids and general collectors, the MPs are great and I'm waiting for Starscream, I have Hybrid Convoy, the WST line was cool to have mini G1s but the Alts just have that great appeal great for updating the G1 characters. It would have been better with a story line but too little too late. With all the cars still untapped and with Renault/Nissan talking with GM, we may see a 350z somewhere in the line.
