Alternators not Dead Yet - New Wal*Mart Listings!

Recommended Posts

ITS KINDA funny you say I bet though in 6 months or a year from now when they have died people on ebay are gonna go crazy over them due to being discontinued like that SWERVE alternator he was everywhere now he is worth 100 bucks on ebay  :clap

Swerve? Everywhere? That's strange to hear because I've yet to see him or Decepticharge in person. For me Meister was a peg warmer for several months though I hear he's highly sought after by a lot of people (hence the re-release).

Of course they're not dead

meh, this line grows increasingly irrelevant with each passing month

I'll never understand collectors. Sometimes things are rare because they should be...

anyway

what I meant was that the Alternators filled a huge G1 void when they first came out... now with the Classics, the Titaniums, and next year the movie toys coming out, that void has pretty much been filled. It seems almost redundant to keep this line going.

but that's just me, I know some people really like cars

Their just killing time (aka toy filler) before all the good Car models are used for the movie line, for which I believe will branch FROM Alts.

If u r right, and I have no prob with this, I just hope the movie line toys are 1/24 scale also.

I hate massive size differences in toys, wich is why my collection is limited to Alts right now.

Of course the Alts are gonna end some day but Jeebus!! dont wish their death on us. Hundreds of ppl still enjoy them whether you do or not. I wouldn't mind if they never stopped making them and they branched off into other universes. It's not like they come out with 10 new figs every 2 months like the main line Infact, it's been 2.5 yrs and they're only up to 24 figs so far.

hey now!

far be it from me to wish the end of a sweet toy line like Alternators...

I think part of my lack of enthusiasm is coming from the fact that the ratio of cool Alts to not cool Alts has been steadily decreasing over time.... I mean, Mirage is hella sweet x 100, but other than him...... eh

although that's not entirely fair, Nemesis Prime is pretty sweet... but I chalk that up to the dependably cool color scheme more than the mold

Jaguar Ravage!  :clap Can't wait to see him. I kind of hope he'll be a triple changer-esque thing. Jaguar(car) to Robot to Jaguar(cat)!

Hopefully, this way I can finally talk my friend into believing Ravage is feline.

Rollbar, Rico, Optimus Pickup and Rumbles Piledriver hands did kill things a bit. Camshaft didn't help much either. I like Cammy though. Rumble's new pics are taking far too long.

I know alot of people will hope Hasbro don't see this, but I'm more than happy getting loads of repaints in this line. Around my way, we call the Ford Escort the "Ford Cli[banned]s" cos every c[banned]t's got one!

I'd like to see some not-so-flashy cars made, but I'm realistic & know that won't happen. At least with 5 Scooby's I can imagine I'm in a posh neighbourhood.

The best thing about Swerve for me was the new head. (And the sticker for my Tracks!) Not giving a new one to Ricochet, Rollbar, etc was just lazy IMO.

Summary:

Same cars = I'm cool with that

Same heads = Hasbro suck

*semi-edit*

If G1 is getting redone with the Classics line, straying away from G1 in Alts may be intentional? Even if not on purpose, maybe it's not such a bad thing anyway? The homages are cool, but the fact that they're realistic 1:24 scale cars is what makes me buy them.
