From the people who brought you beef stroganoff flavored ice cream, comes zoid transformers.  :-)  I;m open to counter arguments, but don't zoids and transformers both have enough of a gimick already?

P-

I dunno...isn't half the appeal of those Zoids toys the fact that they're models?  If you appealed to one market (The Transformers), you lose the interest of everyone who buys them to build and put them together.

Of course, I could be wrong, as I don't buy toys that come in pieces, but...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Do think I'd buy that GenoShocker design. It's awesome.

Anyways, I'd buy 'em if they kept 'em as kits. It'd be fun to get articulated Zoids, that turn into ...well. Whoever TomyTakara wants them to turn into. (Though, I do agree. Don't make them into their pilots. They have wild zoids, so they could look like thier own characters. ...although, homages to the mechanical characters from Zoids New Century/Zero wouldn't be too bad.)

And they do have some nifty Zoids/TF kitbashes on LiveDoor.

Aoi

i did 2 or 3 designs way back based on a few of my favs IMO the ZOID stlye works very well on TF's given the simlar robotic looks but as for a cross over idd have to say no

War liger

Shell Shock

Grim Lock this one is pritty old now so thiers room for improvment

For those who scoff, consider the following:

1 ) Zoids are kits you assemble

2 ) Zoids very much resemble such luminaries as G1 Dinobots and Predacons, Energon Terrorcons, and so on.

3 ) Assembly kits of robot animals that transform into humanoids would provide MEGA buku possibilities for kitbashers, not to mention make it VERY easy to make your own custom repaints and the like.

4 ) At the least, there would be tons of guns and cannons you can modify to fit your TF's and Alts...

buku?

First thing's first:  Hasbro tried doing Zoids action figures. They didn't sell so well.

Second thing: There are transforming Zoids, but not in the traditional way... the Blox system, which is an extension of the CP system, works like transformations.

Now, that being said.. Yes, transformable Zoids would rock.. But if it were Zoids -> TF's, it wouldn't work based on a world philosophy (and believe it or not, Tomy takes the Zoids universe very seriously).

Now... if you were to do TF's arriving on the Zoids planet, then it'd work very well.

But.. in the end, it's simple: Tomy should use some of its sculptors on Zoids on the TF line. Why? Because they are AMAZINGLY good at doing techno-organic, to varying degrees. If anyone were to make modern day dinobots, it should be them.

the reason why starwars transformers failed is that their robot form is based on starwars characters. As long as the characters are from the TF universe it would work and not the zoid pilots

Can we really say they failed? They're flying off the shelfs faster than Alternators.  near me.

I liked zoids but i would never buy them. I just watched the cartoon at six in the morning before school. Thats all. I never bought into the SWTF's eariler. They just took the designs off Action Fleet anyways.

The transformer would be the frame already built.  You cut ou the model weapons and armor and put it on the toy
