Next to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee is my second most hated TF character. Why? He's the lapdog/needy type that wants everybody to like him. I hate people like that, so there's no reason I have to be sympathetic to a toy.

I might be that he was one of the very 1st Autobot characters introduced (along with Wheeljack) in MTMTE part 1.

i like Bumblebee because unlike Hot Shot, he acted his age. Bumblebee was a little kid and acted like one. Hot Shot, for all intents and purposes, was a teenager who acted like a little kid, making himself look like a mentally retarded tf.

Classics rule and bumblebee is my fave after prime!!! on another note I got my 20th Ani Prime today from toys r us and it is the shiznit, now I can build my alternator army

I always thought he was a fun little character, and the whole under dog thing is definitly true!  I also like that he's one of the few G1 characters to survive through the entire series.  Most other ark bound Autobots were slagged by season 3.  He did over come a lot, becoming Goldbug and finally 'finding himself.'  His new fig is long overdue!

Bumblebee certainly did come of age after he became Goldbug. Remember that he once went toe-to-toe against Galvatron atop his volcano base (a battle which claimed both Galvatron and Ultra Magnus). Goldbug also single-handedly recruited the assistance of Charles Fong, who saved Blaster, Blitzwing and Astrotrain from the Scraplets. It was Goldbug who retrieved Ethan Zachary's 13cm (5¼") floppy diskette which contained the core consciousness of Optimus Prime (apparently his consciousness is only 1.2MB :P).

 

Goldbug was restored as Bumblebee by Ratchet - and Bumblebee continued to improve as a character. Moments after being rebuilt, he battled Megatron and the Decepticon Sports Car Patrol (along with Grimlock and Jazz). The Classic Pretenders soon joined the Autobot forces on Cybertron under the command of Emirate Xaaron - along with Xaaron's forces, they helped push back the Decepticon hordes. Whilst pursuing the Pretender members Decepticon Mayhem Attack Squad, the Classic Pretenders and Autobot Rescue Patrol made one of the most important discoveries of Transformer history -- Primus! It instantly made believers out of all of them, save for Grimlock who remained the skeptical atheist, demanding more conclusive evidence. And as we all know, the battle between these Autobots and the Mayhem Pretenders led to the activation of Primus, whose waking cry alerted Unicron of Cybertron's location. The Classic Pretenders were then dispatched as one of the numerous teams of Crusaders during the Matrix Quest, where their team was the only one to inadvertantly locate the correct planet where Optimus Prime's original body (and the Matrix) had crashed (Prime was buried in space in a rocket-propelled funeral barge). Even Thunderwing had to admit to Optimus Prime that the Classic Pretenders had battled valiantly against him; even though they had ultimately lost the Matrix to the Mega Pretender (they were on the verge of stasis lock by time they were rescued).

 

Bumblebee continued to appear as an Autobot warrior throughout the rest of G1 and G2 - in fact, it was G2 Bumblebee who intercepted G.I. Joe's distress signal, summoning Optimus Prime's forces to return to Earth once more.

I give a care. He's frickin' Cute. That's why I like em. To me he's the best looking Classics bot they made so far. I still want a BT/Alt BB though he looked tight too.
