This is a really smart move on Takara/Tomy's part. They know the Optimus Prime fanatics would buy anything with the name Optimus Prime slapped on it. Taking out the die-cast metal parts not only save them money on the production of the toy, but also allow for the price point to stay the same because of the "it's an Optimus Prime so I have to buy it" mentality of the Optimus Prime fanatic's mind.

It also comes with a CD and some other crap, besides the robot and pvc toys, this undoubtedly accounts for a fair amount of the other cost (price a Japanese-import CD on Amazon some time).

I just love the way her hands are posed. it makes me roffle each time I see it.

i wouldn't mind these little pvc figures if they were sold seperately but as it is, Takara is promoting them as the main incentive to buy a BT. it's almost like Takara is saying "Buy this ridiculously expensive PVC figurine, get a free transformer!". IMHO, BT's cease to be a tf toy aimed at tf collectors at that point.

Goddamn it, I couldn't agree more!!! I hate that they did this to our beloved TFs, it is truly a travesty (almost as much as how they are charging this freaking much for a POS PVC, CD and TF).
