seeing as how the classics megs news post is basically an anti-classics megs thread i thought this thread would balance it out.

 

so his colors are slightly fugly and his cannon is on the bottom of his arm. get over it. we dont give hastak much credit, and for this line, especially megs, they deserve some gratitude. that fact that they tried to make a gun megs is nothing short of amazing. and after following the guidlines for making gun toys they came out with that, i think they deserve something other than the stereotypical fandom Starscreaming for once.

 

does anyone else feel this way? besides hotrod/opp?

i dident like him at first now i want to do a kitbash homage to tide me over. so yes i love them all! ( plans on building time machine to get to future to retrive the classic line but doesent know where to start )lol

Bah! He's a f'ugly lookin' toy. But I don't blame HasTak, per se - I blame all the whining fanboys who have been begging for Megatron to be a gun again! Well, under existing US toy laws, this is what we get. So to all of you who've been pining for Megatron to be a gun again, I hope you're all bloody happy.

I like him because of the uproar, and he is a BFG with a BFG and no triggercrotch... he is gaudy but he will be cheap enuff to repaint if I REALLY dont like the colors, which I actually do. I think he is better than starscream

i suppose i shouldnt be surprised. almost everyone said tank>gun when this gun megs was just a speculation. and i was fully expecting oranage and some other wierd colors due to the fact of the laws on gun toys these days. so i knew he would be like this. its just... goddam people! he rules!

he will be the best seller of the line because he looks kiddish (ironic since they are toys) IMO, the big ass faction logo on the gun scope  is more disturbing than the wings

I'll buy it. There's no way I can see myself skipping any of this line.

anyway that's an ironic comment to lead off this post with, but...

 

 

When I saw the pictures of Classics Prime, Starscream, Hot Rod and Astrotrain I was like "OMFG!!!1!!" for like four hours. Then yesterday when I saw Megs, it was like my fanboner just got totally deflated. It was a shock to see those green wings. And then when I saw Spydar's digibash I realized that if he'd been painted black & red instead of purple & yellow/green I would have had the same exact reaction to him as I did the others.

 

However.

 

The only problem with a G1-accurate Megatron is that he reminds me of the character. AND I FRIGGIN HATE G1 MEGATRON. He was always getting PWNed like all the time in stupid ways for being stupid. And half of his lines made me cringe. "'Mega-dolt?' You dare to insult me in my own throne room?" Bottom line, I thought he was a big pile of ass-suck. And the more I looked at Spydar's digibash, the more I was reminded of G1 Megs... and all that that implies. And it made me less excited about the toy line. So I was like "f*ck". And that started my journey of acceptance of Classics Megs' colors. I'm even to the point where I'm starting to prefer his current colors to that G1-colored digi-version.

 

Plus it's not like I don't have a history of loving Megatrons who only resemble the original in any way in the head sculpt.

it was a cartoon in the eighties. the bad guys were always morons who always lost. thats just the way it was. remember him for his good moments. like when he tried to bring cybertron into earths orbit to destroy earth. or his epic battle with prime in the movie. or when the autobots got pwned at every turn in mtmte. my point is, there werent many moments due to its time, but when he had good moments, they were great.
