Personally, I`m glad they`re using these repaints for the least popular characters. Leaves more room for them to use original molds for the more popular ones. *Hopes anyway*

 

Also, once this guy comes out, I can now kitbash the black parts from this character into Prowl so I don`t have to waste time and paint to get rid of that piss poor blue/gray color. Like it should have been from the beinning.

That's dumb. I think all the reuses should have new Heads at the least. Besides you say less Popular characters, Pretty soon every bot will have a third straight repaint or since we dont seem to be getting new head molds for the latest characters since Skids, all the new molds will be getting a second straight repaint, cancelling the whole least popular character thing even more.

Why can't they just continue the trend of making the first "plain" release into an Autobot and then following it up w/ a 2nd "racing" release (that obviously has been remolded) into a Decepticon? I would have no problem w/ that, but these lazy ass recolors into figures no one cares about??? They do want to actually sell these toys right???

Instead of giving us a complete remold with the 2nd release and a straight repaint with the third, they could be spreading it:

 

first release

second release: same head but some new parts in car mode

third release: 2nd release car mods but with new head

i actually like the idea of Camshaft and i dont mind this use of the mold for him.

Unfortunately, I would have to say that you are probably being a bit too optimistic. I just want them to actually remold some stuff like they used to and include a new head for a figure that people actually want.

 

I realize they remolded a slight bit, but taking off the emergency lights and chroming the rims hardly qualifies (although I will admit that the bot itself looks pretty decent in those colors, but the car... not so much).

Can`t you see the pattern that`s been developing? The same thing happened to the G1 line back in the day(and pretty much all toy lines in existence). They take an original mold and milk it for all it`s worth. They just simlpy repaint it and slap a different name on it. Whether you like it or not, somewhere somebody will like it and buy it, especially a completist. I agree that they should at least give it a different head, or some other features different from the original mold.  It`s just easier and more cost effective for the business this way. At least we got some different rims and a spoiler with this one. :roll  

 

I`m just praying they don`t insult us by simply repainting Skids into Ironhide without at least a new head. That`s just too damn easy and very lazy on their part. Just my opinion.

 

In the end I really don`t give a crap anyway, It would be nice to have things done the way I want them, but that may not be what someone else wants. I`m just glad I have some skills to kitbash them into someone or something I like better than what was originally intended.

I refuse these half-assed repaints. Barely a remold, Camshaft had me a little excited until I saw that his head was still Prowl's.

Garbage like Rollbar, Riccochet, and now this, should not be tolerated by consumers. Hasbro knows that if they switch a color scheme they'll still sell because of completists. But I just couldn't display this guy on the same shelf as Prowl. It just cheapens the whole line. At least Swerve had a new head mold. At least Sunstreaker was a homage. Hell DeadEnd only worked because they threw him out first before SS. But this makes me feel like Hasbro can pimp us all on lazy repaints.

I like the Prowl mold.  I like Rollbar and Ricochet.  However, I think that this is one lazy ass repaint.  They could at least save this for the third use of the Acura mold. 

 

 

I sure hope the final product looks a bit better.
