Do you think there should be Star Trek Transformers? 37 members have voted

  1. 1. Do you think there should be Star Trek Transformers?

    • Yes, this idea has never been done before. There has been Star Wars and soon Battlestar Galactica, Trek should also have a place in the Transformers universe.

    • No, the idea is not very good. Star Trek should not have any TF's.

I would like first a totally unrelated series with popular cars turning into robots. General Lee, Mystery Machine, KITT, Ecto-1, etc.

highly doubt it.  not only due to the fued between star wars and star trek thing, star trek has less love for the bot, i know data was an android, but the star wars galaxy is chock full of bots, that and then it boils down to who owns the liscense for it.  another thing is that star wars is more popular than star trek, at least with kids and the public in general.

Actually, there's more ppl that like Star Trek. They're just more quiet about it, especially since the Star Wars fans that DO exist are so hyped up on a couple new movies :roll

thats why theres so many star trek toys at walmart huh? :thumb

Well, most of the older Star Trek toys are not all that good. The newer toys however are really good.

And one must remember that there are a lot of Star Trek DVD's on sale while Star Wars "only" has 6 movies, the Clone Wars series and some weird DVD's (such as with the Ewoks) that a lot of fans would stay clear of.

Oh lord no.

I can quite easily see Playmates making Star Trek vehicles that turn into characters from Star Trek,

Playmates doesn't have the Star Trek license anymore and hasn't had it for several years.  Art Asylum has the license so this won't happen.  The feud between Star Trek and Star Wars has no merit to this at all anyway.

Besides, after what they did with the Star Wars Transformers, I'd rather see the Star Wars toyline get Powerglideed up instead of Trek.

Then i partially retract my statement.  :redface

I mean, there are very few ships as powerful as the U.S.S. Defiant and I would love to see it as a Transformer. But then a Transformer character changing into a a Star Trek ship and not a Star Trek character doing so.

Like for example Brawn or a Brawn like character transforming into a Defiant style ship?  The leader of the line, not a Prime this time but a leader of a team that's gone into the Trek universe to try and keep their technology from being used by the wrong race, turning into a flag ship like the Sovereign class.  For the Decepticons, a Starscream or maybe even a Skywarp like character could turn into a Romulan ship with the leader of the Decepticons team turning into a Dominion heavy crusier, since they were hardy ships that not even a Defiant style ship could destroy.  They could have an old timer character turn into the old 60s style Constiution class or an NX class.

For the Borg, it could be a swarm race of TF's or TF style race that can join up and form the cube design and other designs.  The ideas are there, it would take a lot of engineering to make them work right.

Something like that.

Brawn would make a nice choice for a Defiant class ship or Grimlock though he is generally more bulky. He would make a nice Negh'Var class battleship.

Star Trek does have a lot of very cool ship designs. One of my favorites is the U.S.S. Prometheus from the Voyager episode "Message In A Bottle". That was one awesome ship. Or should I say ships :tftongue seeing how it was able to detach into 3 seperate sections each of which was fully armed.

Well Star Trek has been known to have deals with other companies before such as Mega Block, who made the Enterprise-D starship made out entirely out of legos. and Trek also made a deal with Bandai allowing them to create the Incredible Star Trek model ship kits all the way from Japan. If Trek wants to make a deal with Hasbro (which could happen) then they could make up some really neat Autobots and Decepticons that Transform into ships from the Star Trek Universe.

For my vote on Autobots, I would love to see a Intrepid, Defiant, Sovereign, Akira, Steamrunner, Galaxy, and Saber class ships transform into Autobots.

For my vote on Decepticons, I would like to see a Warbird, Valdore, Keldon, Dominion Warship, and Dominion Attack ship Transform into Decepticons (also add in the Borg Cube)

For my vote on Autobots, I would love to see a Intrepid, Defiant, Sovereign, Akira, Steamrunner, Galaxy, and Saber class ships transform into Autobots.

The problem with the Fed ships is that other than the Defiant, most of them looked essentially the same with the saucer/nacelles bit.  I think that would be severly limiting to the final robot designs - I envison a bunch of saucer bodied, warp nacelle legged robots.
