It could be done, I guess. It'd probably turn out about the same as the Star Wars Transformers and I know enough people don't like those. I don't think Hasbro has the rights to Star Trek stuff though.

I think Art Asylum holds the toy rights currently.

The Star Trek ships are often very beautiful designs and would lend themselves well.

 

I mean, there are very few ships as powerful as the U.S.S. Defiant and I would love to see it as a Transformer. But then a Transformer character changing into a a Star Trek ship and not a Star Trek character doing so.

 

True, Star Wars is more popular with the general public but do not forget Star Trek as it has had 10 movies and 5 (6 if you count the animated series) tv-shows. Sure, Enterprise failed but there were reasons why it did and not all relate to the show.

 

Viacom that aired it barely did any promonitional work for it and a lot of people did not even know there was a Star Trek show. Just like Transformers Cybertron right now.

 

I think Star Trek has enough popularity to support a well made line. Art Asylum does hold the license to the Star Trek franschise. They do good work, I own a model of the Enterprise NX-01 and it looks gorgeous.

If they turned into actual robots-I'd be interested.

 

If a shuttle turned into Jordi - I'd save my money for a tetnus shot.

highly doubt it.  not only due to the fued between star wars and star trek thing, star trek has less love for the bot, i know data was an android, but the star wars galaxy is chock full of bots, that and then it boils down to who owns the liscense for it.  another thing is that star wars is more popular than star trek, at least with kids and the public in general.

Actually, there's more ppl that like Star Trek. They're just more quiet about it, especially since the Star Wars fans that DO exist are so hyped up on a couple new movies :roll

Great idea! I would love to see a character like Jetfire Transform into a Sovereign class, or Optimus Prime Transform into a Excalibur class. Hotshot should Transform into a Defiant class in my opinion. OR we could have the Trek characters transform into the ships that they're in command of.
