Very good point in theory, but if you think deeper into it, that's really not the best example to use. Their god is what they honestly belive in; what they think is honestly true... giant alien transforming robots are fictional, thus anything can go. Since there's no giant alien transforming robots to compare these to, there's no way to tell anyway.

It's still a cop-out excuse that is thrown when people feel that they're losing an argument. Whether you're arguing over fact or fiction is fundamentally irrelevant. You're basically telling people, "you wouldn't be understand, so shut up." - it's a form of silencing a debate rather than actually addressing the issue.

Another example...

Parent: "Stealing is wrong."

Child: "Why?"

Parent: "You wouldn't understand."

Cop out!

But it IS true. You don't understand what alien tech could be. I don't understand it either. And winning an argument don't count if you just THINK you know what you're talking about :tflaugh

*doesn't really consider Beast Machines to be "Transformers" since it's not a cartoon from the 1980's*

I just thought it was incredibly ironic, seeing as that was coming from you  :tftongue

Not really. He's held that opinion for like forever. >.>

Well I wouldn't go quite that far ;) :roll

@X-Bob. Yeah, some how I don't think we invented the spacebridge tech, especially since the cons were the first to use it

It's still consivible and theoreticly possible for us to build one, it's not within the relm of "OMGWTFBBWQ SUPAH ADVANCED ROBOTLIFEFORM TECHNOLOGY THAT WE COULD'T POSSIBLE EVER UNDERSTAND, EVER!"

Did you and I watch the same G1? The Transformers wern't that advanced.

Apparently you didn't.  Don't forget, the Transformers crashed here on Earth 4 million years before the eruption of Mt. St. Helens that woke them up.  And during that time, like does IRL, science and technology move forward.  So assuming that before they crashed on Earth, they were already about 10,000 years ahead of us in technology, and add another 4 million years to that.  I'd say they were pretty advanced.  The fact that Spike/Buster and Sparkplug were able to help them as far as repairs are concerned is probably because their systems and functions were very similar to how the Earth's technology was at that point.  But again, time and science and technology move forward.  And they have processors like a computer, that could analyze info at speeds faster than normal computers at the time.  It's said in Prowl's extended bio in some areas that he has a hyper processor for quickly absorbing and analyzing data so he can come up with a plan on the spot.

When they crashd on earth we didn't exist so they were more like 4millon, 10,000 years ahead of us

what people forget is that the cybertronian civilisation is probabley hundreds of millions of years old. Its much more advance then ours. Most of the earth advancements came after the war started on earth, meaning that its because of the autobots humans go advnced tech, the cons certainly didn;t give anything away.

If you watch the flashbacks Cybertron is exactly the same 9 million years ago as it is in the present(minus the nergy shortage). Cybertronian tech does not advance that fast(in the cartoon).

Sure it does. Watch Starscream's Brigade and you'll change your mind.
