what people forget is that the cybertronian civilisation is probabley hundreds of millions of years old. Its much more advance then ours. Most of the earth advancements came after the war started on earth, meaning that its because of the autobots humans go advnced tech, the cons certainly didn;t give anything away.

If you watch the flashbacks Cybertron is exactly the same 9 million years ago as it is in the present(minus the nergy shortage). Cybertronian tech does not advance that fast(in the cartoon).

No Optimus was born nine millon years ago. There's no evidence as to just how far back the race goes. And since transforming was invented for the war, it must have been in existence before Prime and Megs started duking it out. Plus since so many transformers are in their millons, for the quentessons to be largely forgotten would take an enormous amoun of time

...and Optimus Prime was created at the same time that the war started - in fact, it was Orion Pax's death that sparked the war, hence why the episode was called "War Dawn."

 

Yes, that episode does contradict the notion of transformation being invented during the war as explained in "Desertion of the Dinobots" - but whaddaya expect, this is the crummy G1 cartoon continuity we're talking about here.. it's littered with continuity contradictions.
