I finaly just finished watching Season 1

 

and to the following I have to say WTF?

 

1. Size problems, megs turns into a small gun, I saw this in the movie but thought it was just an animation error, has can he become that small yet be taller than Brawn, Prowl, Jazz and even Bumblebee in Robot mode? same goes for SoundWave wave

 

2. kind of related to #1, where does primes trailer come from, when he goes turns into a semi, Ive heard about this but didnt think about it but it just looks weird

 

3 Cybertron come to Earth and causes havoc to earth but is unharmed itself? I know Cybertron is mostly metal but stll, and they are the around same size arnt they?other than that im realy liking G1 well thought out characters  :thumb

#1: it's called mass shifting, it's part of the TF technology. They can change size and mass during a transformation. Every Transformer can do it, but mainly it's used to fit the mode.

 

#2: this is asked a lot and i constantly forget the correct answer (if there is one). Something about a pocket dimension that the trailer goes to (remeber, it's a being like the roller and prime himself).

 

 

#3: i haven't seen that yet, so no answer there

Really, don't try to find logical answers to things that happen in an 80's kids cartoon. The writer's really didn't go that deep when they were thinking of some of these things.

 

 

And there are two reasons Megatron turns into a hand held gun. Firstly, his toy came with enough extras that he could be sold at approximatley the same price and play value as Optimus Prime, and his robot mode was roughly the same height. Secondly, it makes it so much more fun for the kiddies watching if they can pretend that they're actually holding Megtron like in the cartoon.

eric pretty much nailed the first two, as for the third, the only thing i could think of is that cybertron has a much larger gravitational pull than the earth thus damaging earth while it remains unscathed.  i dunno how that stuff works sooooo don't quote me, but it might have something to do with cybertron having much more mass than earth?  again, iunno just a thought

Just go read the Marvel comics. A much better source of G1 canon than the cartoons, believe me. :P

But even then you have the mass changing...which is simply a dumb idea IMO.

 

Fortunately, there's no moving thing into some kind of weird dimension in the comic. Prime's trailer just stays where he left.

 

 

As for Cybertron not getting damaged by the proximity to Earth. COuld indeed be because of Cybertron is solid metallic. Earth is just a mantle of crust over Magma and much of our surface is water. Makes our planet much more susceptible compared to Cybertron.

It's what is known as the "Balonium Factor." :P

#2 thats actually called a weapon's console, discussed in season 2 part 2  the ep. where slingshot and sky dive were smuggled and chopped into parts and the parts were turned into drone planes.

ok if your takara & hasbro how else would explain a gun, a walkman, some tapes, and 3 jets and not to mention a a camera to do the things they do. i mean really what other plotline could you use to justify? a  100 footlong gun and a 30ft walkman, now thats just a really bad idea...........
