*avoids fanboy explanations*

TF:TM is just indelibly associated with the nostalgia of the 80's in my mind, regardless of how good it may or may not have been. BREAKFAST CLUB'D

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

And those two movies are tied together anyway :tfgrin

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

he was better in the Breakfast Club

*runs*

I would have to say that even though the story had issues... the S3 "Call of the Primitives" episode PWND almost all of the other episodes animation wise.

The manga style antennae on Abominus kicked ass.

Ending G1 with TF:TM = a lot less angst / headaches

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

no kidding, it would have been the best most appropriate ending to a cartoon series ever.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

:bizz that

However, even though we had Season 3, it had a decent ending in The Return of Optimus Prime too... and then they went and did Rebirth which just re-f'd everything and ended it then...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I believe the exact opposite. Dark Awakening was awesome, TRoOP sucked balls, and Rebirth redeemed post-TF:TM G1 by completing the story arc set out in MTMTE.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Rebirth bugged the hell out of me

Webworld was the best S3

f*cking monkeys....

Unicron built by a monkey... :tfhuh  :tfhuh  :tfhuh

I'm lost here.

I like the explanation that Primus gives for the black hole in Cybertron which in retrospect can but this into a more clear picture...to an extent.

The Matrix was forged from Primus' life essence, which is inherently divine. When the Matrix is unleashed upon Unicron, this Divine Purity effectively cancels out Unicron's evil - much like how light removes darkness (and darkness is merely the absence of light).

masterminicon:

In the G1 comics, Unicron was a Dark God... effectively "uncreated"... in the G1 cartoon, Unicron was created by a space monkey. This space monkey:

...little wonder that the Marvel Comics are widely considered to be the preferred source of G1 continuity. :P

Okay, now...why?

I bought the chinese G1 set a year ago.  I watched 8 episodes of S3 before deciding that I didn't want to finish it.  at all.

"Dark Awakening" is really worth watching. The rest is mostly forgettable.

and BTW "Call of the Primitives" gets no props from me because the animation was TOO manga looking, and it was the monkey episode.

Primacron PWNS joo. :lol

Seriously though - I really didn't mind the manga style of that episode. Made it more contemporary IMO. Just didn't like the Primacron part.
