In my TFTM remix project, I have Ultra Magnus saying this instead of his "Never!" line to Galvatron:

"GO SIPHON MY WASTEPORT!"

:eplus

slightly offtopic - i'm also altering the line "I thought you were made of sterner stuff" to be, "You've got a better chance of seeing Primus".  I think it makes Prime look a little more like he would've blown Megs to pieces had not Hot Rod interceded...damn well-meaning lad...

Night Slash Cheetor is almost as good as Powermaster Lube :tflaugh

"Hell" and "damn" aren't considered swear words here. But I was watching that Simpsons ep where Bart and Homer go Catholic... they used the word "wanker" and "bugger" which are considered quite offensive here - especially wanker. If I ever heard a kid use that word, it'd be a one way ticket to detention city.

Wanker and Bugger/Buggers are considered to be nothing here.

When did they swear in the comics?!

Also, yes, they do swear in the Japanese cartoons. But it's not taboo to swear on TV in Japan - yet Japanese kids don't swear at parents, teachers etc.

It's the same reason why Takara can produce carded Transformers with resealable bubbles but Hasbro can't because Western kids would steal them --  Japanese (and Asian culture in general) instills a sense of responsibility in kids. This is also why Asian kids generally perform better at school too (I'm not making this up, this was the result of a university study).

I think one problem that Western society is plagued with is that in modern times we have become increasingly aware of what our rights are, and what we can get away with doing, but without being taught what the responsibilities that are coupled with these rights are. For example, the Internet is littered with hate sites like this one. Yes, people are entitled to freedom of speech, but with that right comes the responsibility to not abuse that right by using it to hurt other people and diminish the humanity of others. And for that very reason, hate sites are actually an infringement of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Sites like the one I just pointed out are examples of online human rights abuse, or at least promoting ideology that abuses human rights, which is in violation of Article 30 of the UDHR.

I'm sure nobody wanted to hear any of that. Thanks anyway :tfgrin
