Review - Alternators Optimus Prime

Recommended Posts

I think Prowl is a great Alt and is a lot of fun to play with. It's funny how hung up people get about knees though... I guess my dreams of displaying my Alts in "squatting down to take a dump" poses are gone now :tfsad

no knees are better than f'd up knees cause then you at least have an excuse as to why he's standing all rigid

maybe cuz he's a toy, gheybo :tflaugh

I guess it does matter to some people, but I'm not the kind of guy to make my toys vogue or whatever on the shelf. I just have them sort of stand there and stuff. As long as there's enough flexibility for it to look like it's standing naturally, I'm fine.

And I guess that's why I'm all like "WTF" about the Prime criticism.

I like my steaming pile of crap-bot. What I hate about most peoples reviews is, IMO, Prime is no worse than Tracks or The Vipers. If you sit down with a TF long enough you can figure out natural ways to stop them from looking so crazy. Like I attempted here.

I'll wait till I can find one and buy him, since he'll probably not be released in Europe and the UK so I'll have to see about importing, before I say anything nasty about Alt. Prime.  Maybe he's not as bad as people think, maybe he's even worse than poeple say.  I don't care, I'll hold my own opinions till I can get one for the collection.

My problem w/ him is, like I said above, that he seems to be no better off engineering-wise than Tracks or the Vipers. You would think that some advances would have been made in the line since then (like how they fixed the steering from Smokes to Meister) and that Prime wouldn't have some of these problems.

I dunno. I will probably just wait and see what I think whenever I see one sitting on the shelves, but I really doubt I will buy it. I will also have to wait and see if Prime/Ginrai is released in BT, although I doubt that will change my mind either.

The Dodge Ram Alternator has been rumored for soo long. I'm thinking the mold was made a long time ago. Tracks was originally the 3 mold made and the only one of that 3 to get approved. Yet he was the 6th release *even though there's a 5 on the box* But until we talk to Takara, we'll never know.

Another thing, the S2000 is an improvement over the Vipers but he still has a new set of issues. Maybe like I said in the other thread, HasTak were just satisfied with the job they did and said "Okay sell em! Next!"

okay Prime sux!

your review says exactly what i expected it to say... it's exactly what i'm going to say after i buy it :redface

:pfx  He probably won't be my favorite, but I'll still like him.

I prefer to display them just standing. :redface

He has an original transformation though.  When they reuse it (like from the subaru to the mazda), I'm sure he'll be much improved.

The funny thing is that if you showed a third party - who had no preconceived notions regarding TF - that particular pic, they might well think that the dynamic-looking "red truck" appears to be a better robot than the "blue car" with all the junk hanging off it's back.
