He went from my favourite character in BW to my least favourite because of his newfound "wimpy attitude" and craptacular robot mode (all he was ever used for was to stick his tail into a phone jack and find information----he just coward away in a corner during the battles which is completely different from what he did in BW)

that was kinda the point of his character development.  He went from a small body that he could sneak around in, plus grenades in his forearms to a useless body.  He got by in BW with his wit and better weapons, but had to learn skills to fight in BM.

Thats not character development, that's sloppy writing

Really? That's the best sloppy writing I've ever seen.

and the holographic Prime did have a mouthplate: 20.jpg

In some shots he does, in others he doesn't.

Well, as pointed out before, it wasn't really Optimus Prime, but an illusion from Megatron. Even with the mouthplate, that's not Optimus Prime's head - it's Optimus Primal's head from BW Season 1...which occasionally had a face plate when he would go into some sort of battle mode (first seen in "Gorilla Warfare"). Mainframe had separate models for the heads of Optimus Primal and Optimus Prime, as can be seen below:

As much as I am a fan of Beast Machines, I must say that Grimlock is right. BM does have some weak character development (I teach English literature btw ;)).

I sooooo bet IDW will explain how Waspinator got back in the new Beast Wars comic

unlikely.  Right now, it's using only non-show characters set at the start of S3.

well I didn't really mean for this topic to be about if you like BM or not or if it ruins the G1/BW continuity. I know I should keep in mind that any mention of beast machines, will bring out all the people that hate it and they hi-jack the topic with their BMbashing. I'm not saying that the series was goog or bad, I'm saying that it would have been really cool to see more of megatrons take over of cybertron.

BM sucks!!! Sike. I liked it.

Well, it does give some more character to characters that never made it into the show.  I also like how they have a blend of regular and TM2 characters.  Like Snarl is saving Optimus Minor from Drillbit in Ravage's ship.  Snarl is a regular figure, as is Drillbit, and Optimus Minor is a TM2.  Ramulus is also a TM2.  We also see Torca and Air Hammer, who are Fuzors.  I like it.  And they decided to take Magnaboss from what in America is BM series and stick him where he belongs in BW series like he was in Japan :thumb I'm just looking forward to seeing the revived Ravage as it's hinted at in the end of Issue 2.
