Spongebob and hidden meanings PWN

Personally I like a cartoon that has a human element in it and is not afraid of exploring human issues and/or having an emotional episode once in awhile. Such as The Simpsons or Futurama. "Leela's Homeworld" (the one where she finds her parents) and "Luck Of The Fryish" are excellent episodes.

And of course "Code Of Honor" and "Transmutate".

Not too fond of Spongebob but that is ok, that is just a fad waiting to be replaced by another fad.  :tflaugh

uh... you know how long spongebob has been around? nearly seven years. it's way too old to be a fad.

Well lets face it the new shows are all cheap ass anime. With cheap ass anime jokes, characters and time wsting special moves.

i would like, argue a counterpoint and Blot, but it seems people here are just plain determined to hate the japanese series' without any logic or reason whatsoever.

I think a lot of it is destroyed by the dubbing... hence why animé (or any other form of film literature) should never be watched dubbed.

I think The Headmasters is way better than Rebirth. But if you watched Japanese G1 dubbed, I can understand why you'd hate it.. I've seen Masterforce dubbed, and I've heard that the Headmasters dubbing is even worse... -- Masterforce is the single worst dub I have ever seen anywhere. It makes "Clash of the Bionoids" look good.

I've never watched Energon or Cybertron, but I did watch Armada... and I watched Micron Legend at the same time. No comparison, the Armada dubbing absolutely ruined the story IMHO. Since then I've made no effort to watch any other TF dubs (Energon and Cybertron), although I've heard that Energon was worse than Armada's dubbing and Cybertron isn't too much better. I'll just be sticking to my Super Link and Galaxy Force eps, thanks. :)

Just my two cents.

you'd be wrong there... sometimes a good dub is better than the original.

sometimes

sometimes it's equal. I cannot imagine nay of the voices in, say, Tenchi Muyo! or perhaps Cowboy Bebop being different, but I could imagine the voices in Inuyasha or Samurai Shamploo/Shampoo being different.

the Armada dubbing is actually THE ORIGINAL DUB, incase you didn't know. We got most, or all of the Armada episodes first... Japan did get a headstart on Superlink before we got Energon though... and no, it's not worse than Armada, it's 100X better than Armada. they reuse only one of the annoying voice actors that voiced the kids for a constantly reoccuring charatcer.

the first three kids do show up more than once though, Rad most often. The voice actor does a MUCH better job in Energon, oddly enough. I tihnk that he's able to do adults better than kids.

Armada was originally scripted in Japanese, even though it was aired in the States first... that was more of an issue with airing scheduling, afaik.

Edit: Additional information -

Armada/MD was written and edited by Motohira Ryou. English adaptation by Jono Howard, Terry Klassen, Ward Perry and Kathleen Westlake. (source: IMDB)

That is one of the things I do not like from BW. The characters are cool and I understand they used "classic" names as a form of tribute to their ancestors, but I would have prefered them to have completely new names. At least they are not G1 Megatron and Opitmus. That would be taking the reincarnation thing too far!  :tfmad :Dc

Not a chance in hell. I remember the episode that said it. He got catapulted by the primitives. One, how the hell did he get catapulted ito space and two, your telling me he flew who knows how far to get to the time warp, then did the same to get to cybertron, thats probable a few light years. Not a snowball's chance in guam. He was there cause he's popular and BM hadn't any real comic character

Remember that BW takes place four million years in the past, he had time.

i want to know who said he flew back on his own. i know its goki and xbob saying so, but come on. youre both saying he flew from prehistoric earth to future cybertron over the coarse of 4 million years or more? thats the weakest friggin explanation ever. i could have come up with that. then i would have thought, that was stupid, then put more thought into it.
