I realize that we're all used to names like SkyBlastFireWind and stuff, but to the rest of the world it's pretty silly sounding stuff.

I think the name Depthcharge was ok.

I try not to actually think about TF names too much. "Optimus Primal" is hella ghey in the same way "Rodimus Prime" is.

you know what's even gheyer? giving the leader of the predacons the same name as the leader of the decepticons even tho they are completely different people.

I have to agree with Hornet on that one, but towards the end of BW, it does fit.  He was trying to pick up where the original Megatron left off.

i know, i know but it doesn't make sense for Optimus Prime to get a new name while Megatron was stuck with the same one. it implies that Megatron is more important than Optimus Prime.

I think it has more to do with the fact that it's hard to make a cute reference to Megatron's beast mode by subtlely changing an aspect of his name.

you know they would have done, if they could. With names like Rhinox and Cheetor, Primal would have been "Gorillor" and Megatron would have been .... well, probably "T-Wrecks"

He was an "old" Tyranosaurus Rex.

(By old I mean, We now know better and they were actually silly chocobo looking things)
