Have you got any 'Hurray I got a new TF'-rituals?

I check the articulation, to see what sort of cool poses and tricky camera angles I can use to make a photo-comic out of the figure... especially ways I can cheat the system to make it look like the figure's more articulated than it really is.  They are my actors!

I do the same!

First I take the TF out of the shopping bag and set it down on the Altar of Table that is in my room.  I then go to the holy kitchen drawer, and take out the ceremonial, Holy Box-Cutter of Cheap Quality.  Once a blessed, I push out a short length of blade and proceed to cut the Tape of Clear Packaging.  Upon the end of that task, I open the outer flap of box and remove the inner cradle which holds the sacred Transformer.   The Alternators are blessedly simple, and only require the removal of Merciful Banding of Clear Plastic.  However, the Beast Wars figures are bound by the Twist Ties of Torture.  In either case, once removed, the Transformer is freed and the Holy Texts of Instruction unfolded, the inner cradle is returned to the box and the flap is closed.  Upon transformation, the Holy texts of Instruction are also placed into the box.

Man, I really do love these Boards!!!! That is awesome.

Where ya been MikePrime? Haven't seen ya in awhile.

Uh, nothing.

I'm just a completely normal [26 year old] adult who spends a lot of money on childrens toys.

I had to change the age, but I would agree w/ that. All I do is go to my study/office, get out my butterfly knife (I like opening them w/ that one for some reason) and tear into it. Then I immediately TF it into whatever other mode it has, depending on whether it came packaged in bot or alt mode, and just keep playing w/ it the rest of the day. Once I am done messing w/ it, I TF it into whatever mode it is going to be in for display and stick it in my cabinet. I am kinda particular about how it is displayed, but I think that is just b/c I am a little picky, that's all.

Not so weird I think. Pretty normal in fact. Oh, and I have never smelled any of my toys.

It's supriring how many people smell their TF's.

I smell my toys too :roll I love the smell of a brand new Mcfarlane toy, I don't know why.  I will always clip the twist ties, cause I have no patience for untwisting them. I need my TF NOW!!

i tear into the box on the way home if i can if not its priority # 1 when i get home  i TF it once w/o instructons back and forth then i do it again with the instrutions to see if i missed something i put it on the entertainment center for about 2 weeks in which i play with them randomly and find cool poses and neat lil tricks about them (ie try prowls legs front and backs lately) to see how i like them better

Just having a conversation, just like on every other thread on this board.

Let's see. Before heading out on a TF hunt I always leave the place spick and span, and make sure everything that needs to be done is done. Then I head out, and since I do this once every several months give or take I ussually end up with close to 200 CND in TFs. Two weeks ago I came home with Mudflap, Leobreaker, Evac, Speed minicon team, Wreckloose, Backstop, and Alt Deadend. Where I come from that's a huge haul. Getting home is usually the painfullest. Since I'm ussually the only drver I toss em in the back and make the hour journey back before I can do anything. Also if I'm not driving I've resolved to no longer open TFs in a moving vehicle. That's how Energon Starscreams 1 missil went missing. :tfsad

Getting home is always awsome though. I usually have close to four five bags of toys in hand  depending how many places I ended up going. Though I didn't the last time around I try to take in box pics and post them or at least list them. Opening them is always a thrill, ussually with a knife and a pair of wire tinsnips to get those damned twist ties out of the way. Once free I study the instructions somewhat for the first transformation, and after that I have it memorized no problem. The only reason I bother is because the last thing I want to do is bend or twist something in a way it's not meant to resulting in a broken Transformer. If it's something loose and mail in I'll study on line gallerys. As simple as Machine Wars Prime is he sure was a Starscream to figure out the first time around.

After transforming them back and forth several times over I add them to my already full bins of TFs or pose them for a short while on my dresser or desk or around the room. I don't mind displaying them but I don't like too many out at one time, it clutters the room, and if family visit they don't know what to make of it.  :redface

Me personally, I dont' really get excited until I get my purchases home. Then as I am taking them out of the shopping bag I sing the G1 theme song pretty much the whole time I am opening them up and playing with them.
