Have you got any 'Hurray I got a new TF'-rituals?

Recommended Posts

'cause I do.

Whenever I get a new TF I've made a habit out of letting my cat sniff it first before it gets it's place on the shelf. Combiner teams are sniffed in their combined form.

What weird habits have you got?

Uh, nothing.

I'm just a completely normal 34 year adult who spends a lot of money on childrens toys.

Okay, I wait a long time before unpacking because I always by a lot at once on-line and spread unpacking them over several weeks one every few days (during which I often pick 'm up and gaze at them through the transparant prison)...and yes, I always smell 'm myself when I get them out of the box...oh, and I leave them in the alt mode for the first day to really admire and respect that (otherwise I'd just ignore that).

Nothing else...see perfectly normal :P

i come home, do any thing that needs done, ie; laundry, feed animals, take shower, etc.... so when i'm all done, i can sit on the couch and open up my new toy(s) undisturbed.

i will make a spot for a preordered toy in the display some times days (months :redface HBS-02) before i get it

often some new stuff still has that paint smell so i sniff it only lasts about an hour tho.

also i have a spot on my display for my new toy then after a week or till the next addition its moved to another spot

on a rare note i will draw a pic of it as a tribute e.g. Galaxy Convoy

i will also play with it pose it a few 100 times etc but i think every1 does that

I clear out a spot and sit on my floor.  I get a knife and cut the tape and plastic very carefully, take my time with the wireties (usually).

Then I have a special spot where I display new stuff.  they ususally stay there for 2 weeks unless I get more new stuff in that time.

Uh, nothing.

I'm just a completely normal [26 year old] adult who spends a lot of money on childrens toys.

I had to change the age, but I would agree w/ that. All I do is go to my study/office, get out my butterfly knife (I like opening them w/ that one for some reason) and tear into it. Then I immediately TF it into whatever other mode it has, depending on whether it came packaged in bot or alt mode, and just keep playing w/ it the rest of the day. Once I am done messing w/ it, I TF it into whatever mode it is going to be in for display and stick it in my cabinet. I am kinda particular about how it is displayed, but I think that is just b/c I am a little picky, that's all.

Not so weird I think. Pretty normal in fact. Oh, and I have never smelled any of my toys.

when i get a new tf, i have to transform it without instructions. then back. then again. then back again. only twice have i ever had to use instructions. none alts :D. tm rhinox and optimal of all things. then i guess just pose for a bit. they usually get a spot for display for about a week or so. then i file away the box/card and if the toy is great it sticks around. if not, in the box. id say im pretty normal.

however you should see me try and buy a dvd. mainly bc im very very Outback about it. must be pristine. tfs not so much bc im going to open them, so packaging is no big deal.

'cause I do.

It's supriring how many people smell their TF's.

As long as it's in good condition when I buy the TF, then I'm not bothered on the condition of the packaging/box.  I transform them without the manuals to begin with, do a small test for all it's features, balance and weight, with the rare time doing size comparsions.  And then I tidy everything away and put the new TF's on display and play with them from time to time so that I memorise how they transform back and forth.  Like I did today with the new additions of E-Omega Surpreme and Bulkhead.
