Cybertron Scourge

Recommended Posts

A while back I had myself a Galaxy Force Flame Convoy. I ended up selling it loose and now I am paying the price.

I figured I would just get the Cybertron version of this toy eventually. I found it last night at a Wal Mart and prceded to procure it. Well, after opening it in my local Red Robin while enjoying Monster Mud Pie I realized my utter dissapointment with this figure. This one looks terrible. I am not sure if I just am partial to the Japanese product or what my deal is but I just don't think this figure measures up to his Japanese counterpart at all. Lack of paint, plastic colour and quality.

Boo boo boo.  :tdown

On that note, if anyone feels like trading me a Flame Convoy for a Scourge, PLEASE pm me right away so I can get back to my Galxy Force Goodness. Hey, if you have a GF Flame Convoy that you would trade for something else, please PM me. I don't think I want to buy a case of 6 of them just to get one for myself. Then again, if 5 other people want to get one as well, then I would consider it.

:rofl  :rofl  :rofl

Yeah, I was really disappointed with my Cybertron Scourge. Poor paint and plastic quality. It's pretty much a $25 paperweight. :tdown

He could have more articulation easy, but I'm happy with my Scourge. It's the Dinobot-esque head that does it for me the most. "Where is the Honor in that?!"

I think you miss interperate my original post. I have no qualms about the figure itself. It is a GREAT figure. I love it. The face is amazing and I love his caracter in the Japanese show. I have not seen the english version so I have no idea what he is like in there.

My beef is with the Hasbro lack of effort into this figure. The Japanese one was great with wicked face paint and a good deep colour to his plastic parts. This one HAS NO FACE PAINT! WTF? The face colour is part of who he is. The plastic quality just feels cheap and is almost see-through when you put it up to the light. For some reason I don't recall his whole head lighting up when you push the button but just the eyes, mouth and head piece. This one his whole head turns red, half way down the horns. Come on. I could be wrong but I just don't recall thinking like that when I had the Japanese version.

Force Chip-u IGNITION! He is so bad ass.

Sorry to break it to you, but it looks like you got a bum Scourge.  The only difference between the two figures that there should be is that Scourge has a brighter yellow plastic, and he has the code printed on his key.  Scourge retains all of Flame Convoy's paint apps to a "T".

And the plastic is far from cheap.

People who've owned both simultaneously have confirmed that aside from the brighter yellows, there's no difference between the two.

I didn't know the Cybertron version has no face paint(?)

Factory error maybe?

As for the problem with half the head lighting up....  I checked my (Takara) Flame Convoy and it's fine.

On that basis... I'd suggest you bring it back.

Grr.. making me pull out mine. =P

Okay, my guy has a purple face and green/yellow eyes.

When it comes to his head lighting up, yes there is some bleed-through, but it's mostly in the back, where the light is located.

Weird, I don't see any differences between both versions.

After checking out some great comparison images (thanks MOP) i have decided that the orange vs. the yellow make all the difference in the world. What was I thinking? The yellow plastic debate has gone on for ages with Hot Shot, yellow tracks, decpticharge and swindle. It was my mistake for getting rid of the Galaxy Force version and I guess I will now have to live with that mistake.

Ah well.
