I got the GF version in August - and i have been touting the figure ever since.  Absolutely my Favorite Figure in Cyb/GF so far (and unlikely to be beaten) and one of my Favorite Transformers ever.

I dont have a problem with the rating system that Elrod uses - because he is consistant and fair with it - HOWEVER based on his description - i would put this guy up in the 8 or 9 catagory - i serilously feel he is one of the best TFs ever.  Easily matching ANY of my alts if for no other reason than he is a JOY to TF back and forth (much like many alts/bts are NOT).  I venture into the 9 realm only because if i hadnt played with a TF in years - this guy would likely spark my interest up again.

My two complaints are:

*Hole in altmode - exactly what Elrod mentions.

*rescue wench - is rather short - but i find thats typical of these type of toys towlines/graplinghooks/webbspinners etc - in scale they amount to something like 6ft.  which is useless for a rescue line.

**not a complaint but a hope - repaint/remold in a mono- scheme!!

millitary theme or dark theme whatever!! W00T!

Yay!

Buy him now!

Hunter

Does he have dual knee joints? So you can point his feet away from each other.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean here.  Double-jointed knees is a now, but he has the thigh swivel that I think you're asking for.

The only articulation he lacks that I could possibly ask for is a ball-jointed neck, wrists, and forwards/back shoulder curls (which isn't a big deal, since there are very few TFs that have that articulation point, anyways.  In recent memory, only TM2 Scourge has both, GF Soundwave has only one, in his right shoulder).  He's got everything else.  Universal shoulders and hips, bicep swivels, elbows, thigh swivels, knees, heels, toes, neck, and waist.  Not to mention the folding tail wings, for flight or idle modes.

Thanks. Thigh swivel is what I meant. It doesn't look like he has it in the pics though is the swivel above the knee joint like Mudflaps?

Hunter, your making me want this fig even more than I already want it.

Excellent Review :clap

I just ordered Live Convoy and Megalo Convoy from BBTS  hopefully they'll be here next week!  Woot!

Tman, I kind of menioned what you were talking about in passing when I said, "If you turn the legs outwards slightly, it immediately helps the look of his gigantic ankles." The swivel is right above the knee joint, not in the middle of the thigh. It has a full range of motion. If you rotate eac leg outwards 45 degrees, the effect of the cankles is diminished a great deal. It's kind of an optical illusion but it works wonders.

Thanks for everyone who appreciates my reviews. I'll keep working hard at pleasing some and pissing off the rest.

Nice review Elrod and nice added feedback HunterRose.

FYI: Walmart.com has him in stock (right now anyway) for :thumb

I got this guy at my local Wal-Mart yesterday while searching (in vain) for a Sideways.

My god this guy rocks. Plus, he's got a MASSIVE mega-man esque thing going, and can strike some amazing poses. Very, very flexable, while still having great joints.

Only complaint I have: Does it look like his blade is spinning backwards to anyone else?

Plus, he's got a MASSIVE mega-man esque thing going,

Really? I dunno...

:pfx

Oh Blot.....Brilliant!

After looking for Evac for the better part of the last week I finally found him. As luck would have it, it was the last store I had planned on checking for awhile and it was a TRU so I got him for $14.99.  :clap

He was one of my most anticipated figures and he hasn't disappointed! My only real gripe is the winch line not being longer, another 2 or 3 inches on it would have made a world of difference.

Now I don't know if it's just me, but I've found some parts to be almost freakishly tight. I really had to put some pressure on in order to get his shoulders to snap into place and the knees are REALLY tight. Not that I'm complaining,  better than being all floppy.

I'd have to give him a solid 9 and say he's a must have figure.  :thumb

Update: I found Evac today at Target and bought him immediately. I was not disappointed, he is exactly as described and a very nice figure overall.

My complaints mirror everyone elses, w/ the main on being the short rope on the winch. I actually just spent about 45 minutes fixing a taken apart winch b/c I wanted to see if some rope could be added (which I think I might try if I can find some).

I recommend this figure highly as it has a really nice alt mode and a pretty decent bot mode. It has a lot of nice features including the "safeties" I just noticed that cover the triggers of the missiles when they are not deployed, that way you can't accidentally shoot yourself in the face while playing w/ it (and it is a good figure to play w/ IMO).

Very nice overall, pick it up if you can. Oh and I definitely agree w/ HunterRose that it should be recolored in military theme, that would rock!!! (can I hear ya say Airwolf!!!)
