Cybertron Armorhide

Recommended Posts

When you get Backstop, you'll have a lame Cybertron basic.

I like Armorhide.... but he's only "ok"... he's just soooooo close to be incredible it bothers me that he's not quite there. His shoulders should have a full range of motion, but the top is blocked off for no reason meaning his arms can't go out to the side. The lack of a waist pivot and hinges instead of ball jointed knees really restrict the ways you can make him stand up.

If only the knees & shoulders were ball joints and the waist had a pivot he'd be perfect. As-is he doesn't quite measure up to great basics like E.Sledge, E.Skyshadow, TM2 Spittor and BW Razorclaw. Hardtop's also so close to greatness, he's really good... but while he has ball jointed knees, the squared-off plastic around them limits the poseability for no purpose. Sledge, with the same transformation scheme, doesn't have that problem.

Armorhide definitely has a "Pipes" vibe, just wish he had some pipes! A really awesome detail that surprised me was that the key doesn't only open the grill but actually pushes the rocket tips outward from a recessed position.

VERY fun figure, def the best of the Autobot basics with only Hardtop/Swindle standing in the way of best basic in the line :clap

I tell you, Hasbro has NOT dissapointed me with their exclusives. From Energon's Towline and Sharkticon...We now have Hardtop (which is badass) and now Armorhide.

First, detail reminds me of Huffer and Pipes. Kind of wish he had a mini trailer...but for fun I had him tow Hardtop around...His transformation is unique! totally different direction than anticipated. Could even see this with a delux sized bot.

Now his force chip gimick, MASK worthy. Just because I want to make this joke...Armorhide got a nice rack for his chest! Missle rack that is...lol.Works great in both bot and vehicle mode.

You know, soon as I saw a pic of him, I thought 'Huffer!'

He's on the list to get.

dude...that Ironhide...I'd pick that up in a heartbeat!!!

Thanks.  It's not my best digibash but neither is it my worst.  I have some more color variations to the mold in this thread at the Allspark, if you want to see them.  All I know is that this mold is too awesome not to repaint into another character.  I may go get some vinyl paint and try a few myself, if he ever shows up where I live (I got the one I have at Botcon).

After FINALLY spotting one each of Leobreaker and Mudflap at my local TRU, I quickly snagged them from the shelf before losing my opportunity to get them.

And I am glad that I did...  :tftongue

But also on the shelf was one Cybertron Armorhide. So I figured what the heck, and threw him on the pile as well.

Believe it or not, I actually like the little guy! I have seen the cross sell pics for some time now, but I didn't think he would grow on me as much as he did...

Here is my 'action pose' pic:

Anyone else suprised that they find themselves liking the little basics as much, if not more than the Ultra's, Supremes, or Leaders?

Armorhide is actually my favorite Cybertron figure by far.  He could even be upsized and still be an awesome figure.

Any one notice that the Basics have Waist and the other bots dont. The Scouts all look and pose very well.

First line where I think the scouts have some of the best designs.  Love my hardtop, and still looking for Armorhide.
