they should make a fort max size figure made up of five battlestation type figures that can merge combiner port wise into a massive battleship or huge city for that matter

I think this sort of idea is the only way you could effectively do a "Fort Max" type robot in the current toy climate.

Probably the most workable way to do it would be with two Supreme size figures that can be combined into a larger robot - sort of in the style of Energon Omega Supreme, except each "half" is a great stand alone robot on it's own.

I was just wondering how many of us as a fandom would be willing to fork over $100 on a modern "Fort Max" style bot... a big cityformer, somewhere just over 2 feet tall, with a complex transformation and a boatload of detail and gimmicks.  Something in the mainline, like FM was in his day.  Thoughts?

Absolutely.

I would count myself lucky to get something like that at that price. I would be happy to pay 2x that amount for a fully functional and articulated modern Fort Max.

It would have to be at least as big as the original Fort Max, and preferably much bigger, in scale w/ the minicons and WST.

I would love to see what todays engineers/designers could come up with, especially in light of the astounding successes of BT/Alt and MP Prime. I would stand in awe.
