:wtf That's news to me. Well in that case, it sounds like they might be testing the waters a bit. I still think that a store exclusive is the right way to go at this point,

that's like saying Universe should have been a store exclusive.

I still contend that the reissue line failed due to high prices and bad mold choices, as opposed to distribution and/or availability of Takara brand reissues.  The first few (Optimus, Magnus, Hot Rod, and SS) were all reasonably priced, plus they were some of the best, and most iconic, molds from G1.

My point was that once these few "iconic" molds were used, the line should have stopped anyway.  It was beating a dead horse releasing 80% of them.

And has anyone considered the possibility that a wide release for BW anniversary toys might not be justified? These are toys for fans. And as we should all know by now, fans are not the primary demographic that Hasbro or any other toy company caters to.

but BW appeals to both kids and collectors. the G1 re-issues were expensive collectors' pieces by today's standards whereas modern kids can actually afford and play with BW reissues.

Don't forget that they're also going to try to get the show back on TV next as well.

If BW can air in Canada years after the show ended, I would think it could work in the US and other countries.

What are it's rating though? I know Canada has laws to promote Canadian media (which BW is) so that may contribute to it still being on the air. I don't mean that as a knock at the show, but I without the toys I figure the kids would care a bit less.

well, BW isn't like other tf cartoons. it started out as a promotional tool for the toyline but it started to take on a quality of its own to the point where the toyline started copying it.

huggin' sweet. I can not wait till I get a Transmutate figure...I love that guy! :D

BTW anyone know if Takara will do this years from now?

VGM out...

True, I really just couldn't think on how to finish my statement. What I was asking was is it still a high rated show there, or is it basically a filler show?

Didnt we have enough reapints DURing beast wars? I mean i have like three versions or each toy....original colors..fox kids colors...TM colors...TM2 colors...and so on....NOT saying that i do not love beast wars cuz I DO LOVE BEAST WARS :-) Just saying for sayings sake.....beast wars is what started the repaint mania isnt it?

I thought Armada started the repaint rush.  It was the first time repainted characters had been put in the actual show.  And I wouldn't really call a TM or TM2 a repaint just becuase it's the same character either.

I kinda thought G1 did that, you had the seekers, Prime and Magnus (cabs), Ironhide and Rachet, Prowl and Red alert, and others.

Anyway I cant wait to get Transmutate. I hope BW does come back on. I miss watching thought out AMERICAN shows.
