Beast Wars.

Beast Machines had a more consistent and challenging theme, but it wasn't very engaging.

I'd take things like the conflicted loyalties of Dinobot, the thoroughly evil yet pitiable Rampage, or the powerful yet almost mindless Transmutate as far more interesting than anything in BM.

Plus Beast Wars had some exceedingly mature innuendo. ;)

"Scouting the enemy, eh? Find any new.....positions?"

"Hey! You emasculating fembot!"

"My beloved has many skills."

rampage for me was like a tf hannibal

I voted BW.  BM was more consistantly philisophical, but BW had it's occasional gems  like Code of Hero and Transmutate.  Maybe because not every BW show was deep, the deep ones really stand out.

Id say the beast era in general, it shows how the characters matured throughout the shows, esspecially in BM. BW started it off, and show develpoment of their personalities, and then BM showed the philisophical side of the TF's. Who are we, where did we come from kind of a thing.... they acctually tried to find things out, tried to bring peace to the planet, and not just blow eachother away... not that thats a bad thing either, lol, explosions are always good.

Beast Machines. Not much jokiness. it had a seriousness to it

Even though I'm a G1 fan, I would have to say Beast Wars had the best stories that as an adult didn't make you like your brain was ozzing out when you were watching it....even more so in the later episodes.  Beast Machines could have been the same, but it tried too hard to be mature and instead just got bogged down.

Most Mature: Beast Machines.

Best: Beast Wars.

:pfx completely

Id say Beast Wars had the greatest character development, especially in the relationships between rattrap and Dinobot/ Depthcharge and Optimus Primal

Beast Machines, easily. Just having philosophy as part of regular discussion makes it more mature than any other TF show by far. Beast Wars being the second with how it dealt with the brilliantly written cast, showing depth and personality that puts every other TF show to shame.

The Beast Saga FTW!

I hate to say it, but BW :tfmad

Two words. Munky Prime :monkey :tflaugh

to be a bit of an Outback bastard, maturity in TV doesn't nessicerily equal making you think. i could put up an arguement that Energon is mature, seeing as how it has semi-sadism(I highly doubt transformers can Seaspray, k thx), post tramautic stress disorder, and in the later episodes an almost overwhelming feeling of doom.
