Takara Dissolved

wow, a power move by TOMY, no more fighting for names/exclusives/toy deals/asking for rights. Congrats to Hasbro, but at the same time I hope they keep Takara's major core staff. I've grown to like what they have been doing these last few years.

I guess I stand corrected, Tomy is not owned by Hasbro, I just looked it up.  Maybe I was confusing it with Tonka or Tiger... irregardless, I'm certain that Tomy will continue Takara's joint ventures, it would be bad business sense not to....

However, if Tomy does not continue the TF line, that would likely mean that Hasbro will then be doing all TF development in-house, which could be good or bad (likely bad).

okay.. i tought tomy was gonna be incorporated into takara.. turns out its the other way around....

one good thing i think may come out of this is more radical designs for tfs...

tomy designers are very at coming up with great designs... :clap

now that i think about it, i see tomy canceling the tf toyline due to low profits. hasbro will then cancel the toyline as well since they would probably think that it is no longer profitable since takara is no longer footing the bill.

You certainly like to see the silverlining in the clouds don't ya bro  :tflaugh

Personally, I think if the TF franchise is handed back into US hands, it could be 'Beast Wars the second coming'. Heck, without BW we probably wouldn't of even saw RiD or anything else there after.. I don't see this as a bad thing, persay.. atleast american writers throw a little more variety into the mix.. it's not like Transformers are on their way out any time soon.
