Alt Prowl in box

Hmm... sounds like the Alt version is fine if not too much thought is put into it.  However, much like "Independence Day" and "The Day After Tomorrow", it falls apart pretty fast if one looks for holes in it.  Overall though, let's look at the bright side of this release:  it's a US-release Honda product w/ weapons, and they're even properly police-themed!

For those of you who don't like the Autobot symbol:  a Q-tip, 90% rubbing alcohol and about two minutes of elbow grease is all it will take to remove it.

the hood is painted on the Alt verion (at least my version) wouldnt that strip the paint too?

Ahhh, I didn't realize the hood was painted white.  I just assumed that it was solid white plastic.  Using 90% rubbing alcohol will screw up the white paint.

It should still be possible to get it off but now it gets tricky (I'm assuming its probably tampo printed so with the right solvent and careful application it can still be done).

Out of curiosity, Jag, what color is the hood panel actually molded in?

not necessarily, though it might. it's a tricky balancing act. Rubbing alcohol works great on heat transfers but not so much on paint...

Although even if you do get that off, there's still the very very English "POLICE HIGHWAY bla bla" stuff on the doors.

Which is the other crap I really don't like about it.

Its actually white plastic underneith but is sprayed a pearlesant white over it.  The majority of the other panels are black plastic painted white

Didn't notice that the hood and door decals are the same as his G1 counterparts. Doesn't mean it looks much better but it is a bit more acceptable as I can see what they were going for with it. If I don't feel like throwing down the cash for the BT then this is a good substitute. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
