I feel that a few alterations to the combined mode makes it fairly decent.

 

First, Swoop's thigh/upper leg can slide down into the lower leg. So  compress Swoop's legs so the 'engine' is almost touching the blue hips.

 

This makes the legs look alot better.

 

Second, swing Swoop's claws up and back til they almost touch Grimlock. Allow Swoop's shoulder pads to stay in their 'hip guard' positions.

 

Third, swing Grimlock's mini dinosaur arms down til they touch Swoop.

 

This makes the abs and hips look alot better.

 

Fourth, disconnect Grimlock's tail/legs from the back tab and swing the tail/legs up and in so they are like big shoulder pads.

 

This makes his upper body and shoulders look alot better.

 

With these few modifications to his transformation, he looks much better.

 

 

 

 

Though he would have looked even better if he had come with a Grimlock Sword.

Also hopefully my set should arrive in the next week, so then I can finally put all the naysayers to rest because IMO Alpha Q rocks for what he is, and I can't see these being any better or worse. :clap

Did you happened to catch the part where you have to split Swoop's chest apart in order to peg the thrusters/legs into place in beast mode? Just wondering.
