Customizing a car is not adding snap on parts; it is, as Gen 0 says, working on a frame that's been chopped up and in a garage with an engine that's sitting 5 feet away in a harness. Preferably while holding a beer. I won't get into a discussion on which brand.

If it's not Pabst Blue Ribbon you might as well be wearing a dress...

EDIT:  Swell picture of Frank Booth removed

The first proto to surface on ebay

Thanks to our Own friend and Proto hunter Jaguaratron for the find

I don't think anyone should be acting all grateful for this toy, just because of the crappy Diaclone van that was used as Ironhide in G1. So what if it was, that doesn't excuse this sorry piece crap that people call a car.  Even if it's not Ironhide, it's still a terrible alt mode for any Transformer.

The Scion xB is a step-backward in aerodynamics.  Other car companies have done this too, look at the new Chrysler 300, but the Scion is really a rectangular box on wheels.  The Scion line has two other cars, both look pretty nice and would be good as Alternators, but the Scion Rectangle is a real piece of junk.  The only thing the car is good for is to be smashed by a monster truck.

Forget about the vehicle itself (which I agree sucks), but why are the designs getting more and more like G1, in that the robots are looking worse and worse. Both this and Prowl have the look as if (in very simplified terms) you stand the car on it's rear bumber and fold down the hood. The fronts of the legs are clearly the undersides of the cars, and looks cheap imo. Makes me wish they never left the standard Smokescreen/Jazz design that worked so well on the previous figures which although very common, at least make them look like robots and not hacked up cars.

In the eBay auction photos his rear bumpers are transformed so they fold over the shins like guards - looks a little better.

Also, from the same auction - looks like Ironhide wins the award for the teeniest gun evah...

my guess is that his gun still utilises liquid nitrogen

I like it the bot mode seems Kool and the Gang to me i have no problem with the scion used for him. i would of liked to have seen him be the rumored dodge ram pickup. that would of fit him better. I will hold judgement till i have him in my hands or i see a painted prototype.

Made some touch ups. I love him!

Amazing. :thumb

Don't like the insignia though. If it has to go anywhere it should be his shoulder IMO.

A quickie thought about the transformation. For the most part I like it but from the waist down it's another Spychanger. :tdown A set up like Hound or Silverstreak would be much better. It would also retain the look of an actual leg opposed to rectangular blocks.

As for the alt I would've liked to see one of massive dodge cargo vans with the Ram inspired grill. It would knock up the size a bit somewhere between Optimus, and the Alts.

(sigh) wishful thinking at best. :redface
