I agree with Botcollector and Protoform X, you should be shot for just mentioning the thought about concidering repaints. Because the supreme Hasbroic evil just might be reaing this...

I'm sure they already had repaints in mind. Besides there are some cool ones out there. Powerlinx Hotshot, Universe Inferno, and Ratchet come to mind, not to mention multible G1 fig's. I wish they would have mass released their Sideswipe recolor of RID prowl...looks cooler than Inferno IMO.

no, I dissagree...especially since some molds do look good PL to each other, repaints would be acceptable...I mean we got Cliff Jumper...turn him into a Bumblebee, or a Beach Comber. Prowl? paint him black, call him Breakdown or Dragstrip...and well I mentioned my Hotshot/Wheeljack paint job...I mean how many of you bought Starscream AND Thundercracker for Armada? or even better...for G1? Repains boyos :D Now what would be fun is make the Terrorcons with casset paintjobs. Battle Ravage black...Divebomb gold or red...Cruel lock blue and white...etc

Yeah, I can imagine Ironhide repainted as Ratchet:

 

 

We do need more Mega sized Autobots after all, and despite the head being visible in vehicle mode and all, I do like Ironhide's design. (Of course, I would like to see more original Megas, but still.)

 

I'd also like to see a repaint of Battle Ravage and Divebomb, packaged together, as Pounce and Wingspan from G1. Obviously no amount of repainting would make them look exactly alike in robot mode and still be workable in transformation, but the idea is sort of cool and would work with extremely similar robot mode paint jobs.

I would not want to see any Energon repaints, except maybe for Unicron in original colors from TFTM, but thats it.

I think…hell I know I would love to see Starscream repainted as Thundercracker, Skywarp, and then retooled and repainted as Thrust, Ramjet and Dirge….needless to say I would them in their GenOne colors. Also maybe they could do a special Starscream with a color scheme more akin to his GenOne colors. :thumb

 

If repaints are done right you really don’t think of them as just repaints…but as other characters…and it really works for the seekers as it just seems that they are all part of the same unit which is why they have the same basic body.

Towline would be better as Ratchet, but as a Maintenance van, not an ambulance. The mold fits Ratchet better than Ironhide. Strongarm as Hound, but ONLY if you ditch the red weapons, dont want him to look like a X-mas tree. Naturally Starscream as plenty of Seekers, they should have made rapid run in Wreck Gar's colors to start with rather than that garish nitemare. And how's about Arcee as a few more females? Need more of them anyway.
