G1 Megatron can't fly....

Recommended Posts

That being said... what if I was in Chicago or New York on vacation, and happened to see a Takara G1 Megatron sitting on the shelf of some import store there. Thinking it was a great opportunity, I picked him up.  :thumb

A few days later, I am hurrying to the airport to catch my flight, and all of a sudden the TSA worker's alarm goes off, the lines are held up, and the worker pulls out Megatron from my suitcase. He / she says - "oops, I am sorry, but you cannot have this on your flight" and hands me a bill for $1,100.  :tdown

I'm pretty sure that means you just can't take it as a carry on.

I brought loads of Tfs on a plane a few years ago coming back from Florida

Only ones that turn into guns aren't allowed.

Looks more lika a conspiracy than a security measure!  :tftongue Seriiouslly they should have been more specific, though the description is pretty clear... ONLY if you're a TransFan! How can somebody that's not familiar with TFs can understand that item! They should have said "toys that transform into guns" or something like that. And most importantly, it FAILS to specify if having them in ROBOT mode is also banneable. Long as you don't transform it onboard (and rob it on somebody's face) I see no freaking reason to ban it! That's another megatron's fuse that blows up!  :tfmad :Dc

Pfff.... G1 Megatrons nothing.  I wasn't allowed to bring 20th anniversary Prime on the flight becasue of his guns.

Now that goes beyond stupid! I understand the security issues and the 9/11 trauma, but COME ON! How the HELL a SMALL gun will cause any panic? I mean, one has to be really dumb to take that as a threat! Oh, never mind! I better dig myself a hole and dive head first into it than arguing! >_:tfmad :Dc

(No wonder Megatron is insane!)

Somewhere I read the list of acceptable items, and if it turns into a gun its not allowed in either mode because you could always change it.

Ya know, I bought my CYB Galvatron from Beijing, and I got stopped by airport security when my luggage was X-Rayed... had to open my luggage and show them my TFs... as I did, I was talking to this one female security officer about these Transformers and how cool I thought they were. I even asked what she thought of them, but she didn't tell me. :P

However, a trained martial art expert can kill with his/her hands without even breaking a sweat. What can they do against that?  bumblebeetounge.gif

Shoot them.

Using unarmed martial arts against a gun is bloody hard, as demonstrated here... though not impossible. 5 years ago a disgruntled student walked into a university classroom with a gun and started shooting - one student, who had undertaken one year's training in Kung Fu (Wing Chun - of which Bruce Lee is a famous former practitioner), successfully defeated the gunman.

I'm not sure shooting people on a plane is such an awesome plan.  It wouldn't take much to punch a hole in the side and lose some cabin pressure ...

Besides, who has guns on a plane?  They're banned remember?

the whole bullet hole depressurize cabin thing is just a myth, takes alot more than a few bullet holes to seriously depressurize the cabin, another strike for the mythbusters! ^_^ (god, i LOVE that show!)

i understand the meaning behind this though, you realy can fashion a real working gun out of plastic, and from what i've seen it's fairly simple too.  this should only apply to carry on luggage tho.  as for banning all tf's, you can thank extreme fear media / legislation for that, welcome to dick cheney's america :thumb

U.S. planes have armed air marshalls. I'm not sure how effectual they are in deterring terrorism, but they seem to be quite effective at neutralising the mentally ill.

Funny.  I was allowed.  I was going to visit my cousins and they had wanted me to bring my 20th Anni Prime with me because they wanted to see him.  I was allowed.  Weapons and all.

Now, I remember reading a fair while back that somebody had to take their Takara G1 reissue Megs out of his box so he could prove to customs here in the states that he wasn't dangerous and such, but just a transforming toy :tdown

So I agree that it's a little overboard.

Now, would Galavatron be allowed on since technically he's a cannon and not a gun :tflaugh

Also, what about Shockwave?
