As the former he murdered Optimus Prime, and then later(as the latter) replaced him!!! I call bullsh!t on that. Watch Prime floor rodimus with a single left jab in 'The Return of Optimus Prime' lol.

The Autobots were forced into war by the Decepticons. I have more of a problem with the fact that he was willing to leave the others to fend for themselves, than that he didn't want to fight. Atleast Huffer was willing to fight to protect his fellow Autobots(he didn't want to fight but he did). You want caffeine restricted!? You must be a Decepticon- or a communist....No! You are hot rod and want to kill Coca-Cola and replace it with rodimus-Cola, and run the franchise into the ground before bringing back Coca-Cola as a last ditch effort at saving it!!! You'll never win!!!

Hot Rod: "Uh huh..."

Prime: "Maybe I can use the Matrix..."

Hot Rod: "hmmm... we have a new special chair for that"

Prime: "Really?"

Hot Rod: "Hand me the Matrix and sit in this chair"

Prime: "Hey this chair is really neat... ok I can take the Matrix back now- Hot Rod?"

 

Then a door closes and Hot Rod is standing in the window waving. In the next scene we see Optimus Prime flying in a ship into a sun.

He was directly responsible for Prime's death. I know that if you tried to pull a gun on me while I have one of mine(I have 13, pick one) pointed at you, then you'd be dead. That little pos jumped on Megatron and was used as a Transformer shield. If he'd listened to Kupp and just stayed out of it he wouldn't have been responsible for Prime's death, and(with a little energon and a lot of luck) he may have been stomped flat by Devastator.
