takara #06 megatron import

Recommended Posts

I was interested in picking this re-issue up, and noticed that one site has a disclaimer about customs confiscating it because it doesnt meet with american toy standards of having an orange barrel or something. Does anyone else have this re-issue, and did they come across any problems getting it?

I don't have that one, but the other version. And back when they came out, no online retailers (respected at least) would carry it because they could get fined for importing it. BBTS is a good example. Although I think they carry the new one...

Anyways, I had to smuggle mine over the Canadian border... :usa

If you pick one up at a US retailer that already has him in stock there should be no problems.

I don't think so. I was at a toy collectors convention a few months ago, and I saw at least 15 Takara reissue Megs. It might be some type of BS or rumor that you've found. I don't have one personally, but I'm just saying from what I've seen.

I have it, but it was purchased off of Ebay. My advice would be to purchase it off of a US Seller who already took the risk of getting it into the country.

okay, question: how much should an import megs go for? I'm looking into buying one, but i don't want to get fleeced.

Many countries, especially the USA, have regulations regarding the import of toy guns (e.g. the barrels are supposed to be painted orange, etc.) that this item is NOT in compliance with. As such, it is possible that this item could be confiscated by customs inspectors upon import. ToyObsessed.com Inc. regrets that we cannot be held responsible for any customs problems related to the purchase and import of this item by our customers.

Ask them to ship it with Megs in 'bot mode :tfevil

I don't doubt that the statement it legit. It's a moot point anyway...that reissue is so popular you wouldn't be able to find it from an online retailer at this point anyway and if you did it would still be much more expensive than what you could get it for on Ebay...
