headmasters show

Recommended Posts

Well I don't mind the Headmasters music. In fact, I swear one of the songs was re-used in some non-Transformer show or movie or even a video game maybe? The only problem I have with Headmasters is that there seems to be a lot of characters in each show. I mean tons of them! It is crazy at time. Although, it is sometime's funny, like when Daniel thought Headstrong was a monster. But the only complaint I have is that the characters do not act like they did in the original series. Rodimus Convoy as an example. And even Galvatron seems to have cooled off a bit, not wanting to be in every attack and even planning things from afar. But then also some weird things happen like Twincast being able to take the space bridge to "Jarr" and sneak into the command center and shoot Soundblaster... and then take the space bridge back to whatever that planet the Autobots are on. And the Decepticons don't ever try to use that trick!

Well actually, in Japan, Galvatron isn't nearly the Psycho that he was here. If I remember correctly (X-Bob can back me up or correct me more so than anyone probably) in Japan, not all of Season 3 was a part of the story. So Rodimus Convoy isn't nearly as wimpy or doubting as Rodimus Prime. Now I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I've only read the Manga stories once, so I can't really recall everything that happened there. So if I'm wrong, just cut me some slack, please.

The Japanese Language versions with English Subtitles are very good. The Japanese Voices really sound very close to the American Voices...Grimlock comes to mind first.

I like Headmasters and Masterforce. I think it is much better than what we got here with Rebirth. The animation destroys Rebirth and is on par with the better episodes of Season Two. Headmasters is probably my fav. Japan-Only TF Series.

The English Dubs are horrid and really just bad.

Sparkle? Is that you? WTF.

That's funny. For those who haven't watched these crap dubs,

expect to hear the word "hell" alot.

Sixshot-"Remember me? I am your deathwish!"

Ultra Magnus-"You want to conquer the earth? You will never succeed as

long as I'm here Sixshot."

Sixshot-"You are pretty stupid for a commander. Ok, now let me send

you express to hell!"

Then there is the cast

Sparkle- Spike

Marshall- Jazz

Grimlock- "Hey you!"

Blaster- Billy

Twincast- Blaster

Soundblaster- New Soundwave

Phillip- Metroplex

The Trainbots commander is called Grimlock, even when he combines with the

other trains

Rodimus Prime is pronounced Roadimus Prime by the narrator

Cybertron is pronounced Cybertawn by the voice actors(it only sounds like

there are 3 actors, maybe 4)

I got the english dubbed tapes and I have a tape of a couple of shows subtitled.

after watching both I still like the dubbed tapes even if there are screw ups.

its just more fun.

No! Dark Nova sends Super Megatron to kill Galvatron!

Tee-hee...

I never understood what was up with that? Does anyone have any clarification on what exactly happened?

I already gave hints.

Whoever came up with that bulljive mixed two different stories here:

- In the "2010" manga, the Quintessons built a new body for Starscream's ghost named "Giltaur" (or "Guiltor"), who looks like the bastard love child of Optimus Prime and Megatron. They then send him to kill Galvatron (and Rodimus Prime and everyone else too).

- In the "Battlestars" manga, Dark Nova ressurrects Galvatron from the Arctic (where he had been buried in the "Headmasters" show), turns him into Super Megatron and sends him against Star Convoy, the resurrected Optimus Prime. Super Megatron is destroyed, gets rebuilt as Ultra Megatron and eventually merges with Dark Nova to become the Star Giant.

So it would appear that someone heard about the Super Megatron story and saw the 2010 Manga story with Giltaur, thus somehow assuming that Giltaur was Super Megatron. Seeing that Giltaur is trying to kill Galvatron, this provided even more fuel to the "Megatron and Galvatron are different characters in Japan" rumors.

Plus after how important he was, Goldbug and the rest of the Throttlebots meet the STUPIDEST ending ever.

I'm pretty sure I recall the Throttlebots showing up again in later episodes.

That's wrong. Galvatron was healed from his insanity when Optimus Prime opened the Matrix to end the Hate Plague. Note that Galvatron in Rebirth seems also a lot more sane than the one we saw in season 3.

the dialogue from the english dub sucks but the original dialogue mustn't be too brilliant either...

"-It's the Decepticons!

-I think so too, it must be them!"

Thanks for the correction...I haven't seen all the Japan versions of the old cartoon, except the First Season, Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory. I've also read all of the old Manga up until the end of 2010, didn't finish the rest.

Someone (Who I thought was telling the truth) told me that Season 3 is much different in the Japanese show when compared to the American show.

I always assumed the Matrix healed Galvatron's insanity, but from this guy's speech, he said that was wrong and in Japan Galvatron just isn't the crazy he was here.

Thanks for clearing that up, Nevermore. I didn't think it made much sense, appreciate it.

I thought Rodimus said they were dead after the magnetic meteor. . . I'll have to go through the series again then. Of course, Prowl shows up in Headmasters and Wheeljack makes an appearance in Victory when we know they were both killed at the beginning of the movie, so I'm not sure even the writers of Headmasters were entirely up on their own continuity.

And even if Galvatron's crazy got cured, it sure came back. What is crazy if not "Hey, Sixshot, I'm gonna pull all the decpticons apart and use them to build me a big fat Orson Welles shaped body. And since you've got such good parts, I'm going to use your innards first. What do you think?" Like your boss saying to you "I'm planning on replacing all my organs with those of you and your co-workers. I like the plumpness of your liver. Mind handing it over?"

Megatron would have clubbed him over the back of the head, at least, before announcing his plan to the entire world (both for the benefit of the viewers and for Bumblebee, hidden behind a rock) and then cackling maniacally.

That's the first time I heard that. I'm not so sure that the Matrix

healed Galvatron insanity. The Matrix cured the hate plague only.

That's an interesting point, but I don't agree about it being a fact.

i recently received the headmasters, masterforce and victory dvd sets. im sure youve all seen them on ebay at least once. im not even halfway through headmasters and im mortified! optimus dies again. cybertron gets blown up. galvatron dies. rodimus, kup and blur reliquish power to cerebros(fort max) and like run away! wtf?! and if youve all seen rebirth (pretty much the end of the american g1 series) they introduced the four new autobot headmasters and three new decepticon headmasters. this is who we're left with once cybertron is gone and the rest of the movie cast (hotrod ect.) is gone. i mean theyre hardly even interesting characters.

what's worse is that they leave you with Wheelie and "Danny".

I really can't say who was worse.

Well, I guess it would be Wheelie, because he was really annoying in both the Japanese AND American continuities.
